Please make sure you have installed the most recent drivers for your
hardware. Below you will find various website links to hardware
manufacturors. If the manufacturor of your hardware is not listed,
please check the respective manual.
Note: ParaWorld is playable on the minimum configuration, but the
best result will only be achieved with the recommended configuration.

DirectX®

DirectX® is a component of Windows® 2000 and XP, which enables
Windows® to access certain parts of your processor very quickly,
thus ensuring that current games run at optimum speed.New
technologies, e.g.
state-of-the-art 3D graphics cards, are also optimally supported
by DirectX®. In order to guarantee that PARAWORLD runs smoothly
on your PC, you need to install the latest DirectX®-Version,
DirectX® 9.0c or higher.

DirectX® 9.0c Installation
PARAWORLD automatically checks whether DirectX® needs to be
installed or updated.
If you want to install or update DirectX
yourself:
Please insert the PARAWORLD-DVD in your DVD-ROM drive
and left-click on START in
the Windows® task bar at the bottom left of your screen. Choose
Run , type D:\DirextX\dxsetup in the dialog box, and click on
OK. (If your DVD-ROM drive is not D , please change your entry
in the dialog box accordingly.) The DirectX® installation menu
will now lead you through the necessary
steps to install the software.

Installing & Uninstalling

Installing the Game
To install PARAWORLD on your PC, please follow the instructions
below.
1. Start your PC and the Windows® operating system2. End all
running programs and tasks. In order to ensure a smooth
installation process, please end all active virus scanning programs,
too.3. Insert the PARAWORLD-DVD in your DVD-ROM drive. After a few
seconds, the PARAWORLD autostart menu appears on your screen.4. If
the PARAWORLD autostart menu does not appear after a few seconds,
the autostart option is deactivated on your PC.
Left-click on START in the Windows® task bar at the bottom left
of your screen and choose Run . Now enter D:\autorun.exe in the
dialog box and click on OK. (If your DVD-ROM drive is not D ,
please change your entry in the dialog box accordingly.)5. Click
on the Install button. The installation program InstallShield
Wizard is activated. Now follow the instructions of the installation
program in order to install PARAWORLD on your hard disk.
Uninstalling the Game
In order to delete PARAWORLD from your PC, please follow the
instructions below:
1. Left-click on START on the Windows® task
bar at the bottom left of your screen and choose Programs >
Sunflowers > PARAWORLD > Uninstall PARAWORLD.
2. Follow the
onscreen instructions to finish the de-installation process
for PARAWORLD.

First help

Should you experience problems while playing ParaWorld, deleting
ParaWorld's cache memory can help. Quit to Windows and execute
"Clear Cache" from the ParaWorld startup menu and restart the game.

New HOTKEYS:
H = Select and jump to next Town center
T = Select next/Cycle through Town centers
Z = Select next/Cycle through Barracks
U = Select next/Cycle through Animal farms
I = Select next/Cycle through Machine shops
O = Select next/Cycle through Harbors
P = Select next/Cycle through Temples
L = Select next/Cycle through Weapon makers
K = Select next/Cycle through Taverns
+ & - on the num pad = Change game speed
Alt + 1-8 = Jump to next player (Replay)
Wrong: Shift + left click on an object, removes object from selection
Correct: CTRL + left click on an object, removes object from selection
Right-clicking opens the chat journal

Replay
==================================================================
This function enables you to record an entire game and to replay it
later. It is only available during multiplayer games and games
against the AI (Skirmish). At the end of the game you may save a
so called "Replay" (During the game it is only possible if you
leave the game via "Abandon game"). The replay can be loaded by
selecting "Load game". Replays can also be given to other players
to e.g. compare tactics.
Please note: It is not possible to load a replay while you are
watching one. In this case you need to go back to the ParaWorld
main menu and then load the new replay.
A replay will not quit automatically. You need to quit the
replay you are watching by pressing ESC and then select
"Abandon game" to go back to the ParaWorld main menu.

AI Assist
==================================================================
The AI Assist is a feature which lets the player use the program s
AI (Artificial Intelligence) to help them set up a running economy
or to help them defend their base.
Although work on this feature was well advanced when the game was
completed we were unable to fully implement it in time. We therefore
decided not to unlock it in the game. However, we would still like
to give interested players the chance to use this feature. Please
understand that neither we nor our partners can provide any support
for this feature.
You can unlock this function by changing the following entries in
the settings.cfg file from:
Root/AI/AssisEnableEco = '0'
Root/AI/AssisEnableDefense = '0'
to:
Root/AI/AssisEnableEco = '1'
Root/AI/AssisEnableDefense = '1'
