3: Installation
It is recommended that you close all non-essential programs before installing Petz Horsez.
It is also recommended that you do not install Petz Horsez in your “Windows” folder or in the root directory of any of your hard drives (for example, directly in C: or D:).
4: Compatibility issues
DirectX 9.0 c (provided on the DVD) must be installed in order for the game to function correctly.
It is recommended that you install the most recent drivers available for your graphics card in order for the game to function correctly.
To obtain the latest NVidia drivers, go to
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us.
To obtain the latest ATI drivers, go to
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html.
If display problems occur, it is recommended that you run the game by choosing the minimum possible quality level in the Options menu, as well as the lowest possible resolution, if necessary.
5: Known problems and solutions
It is not recommended that you run other programs while Petz Horsez is running, as it could slow down the game.
You may eject the game DVD once it is running. However, it is not recommended that you then re-insert the game DVD, as the game may automatically restart during gameplay.
It is not recommended that you use the Alt + F4 keys to quit the game.
It is also best to avoid pressing the Alt + Tab keys to go to another application or to the desktop.
If error messages appear during the game, forcing the game to close prematurely, it may be due to the use of obsolete graphics drivers on your computer. Please ensure that the drivers for your graphic card are up to date.
Some graphic cards can sometimes generate display problems, particularly those using the following circuits:
ATI Radeon 7000
ATI Radeon 7500
Nvidia GeForce 2
Nvidia GeForce 2MX
Nvidia GeForce 4MX
6: Game Saves
Warning! The game saves are stored in the current user’s «My Documents» file. It is, therefore, impossible to reach your game saves through a different user account.
