I. INSTALLATION, UNINSTALLATION & SETUP
During the installation process you will be asked if you wish to
Install Microsoft DirectX V5.0. If you select NO only the DirectX
Media files will be installed.
To uninstall Rival Realms, use the 'Uninstall' shortcut in the
Rival Realms Folder on your start menu or the 'Uninstall' option
on the Autoplay CD.
If you need to re-install Rival Realms you must uninstall first
as the installation process does not overwrite existing files.
If you wish to keep your saved games make a backup of the SAVES
folder in your Rival Realms installation directory (C:\Rival)
before uninstalling.
Rival Realms requires:
* Windows 95 or 98
* Pentium 90 MHz CPU or faster
* 16 Mb RAM
* 640 x 480 SVGA graphics adapter with 1MB video memory
* 2X or faster CD-ROM drive
Rival Realms requires the CD be in your computer's CD-ROM drive to
play the game.
Autoplay
Rival Realms is designed for Windows 95 & 98, and features an
AutoPlay enabled CD-ROM.
Rival Realms' Autoplay menu allows you to install the game, and/or
play or uninstall the game (once installed).
To exit out of the AutoPlay program at any time, click the 'Close'
button. To disable the AutoPlay feature hold down the 'Shift'
key on your keyboard while the CD-ROM is being inserted into your
CD-ROM drive.
DirectX 5
Please ensure that you have installed the latest DirectX 5 or
later drivers for your particular accelerator. Check your 3D
accelerator vendor's Web site or Technical Support hotline for
the latest driver information.
II. KNOWN PROBLEMS
1. The following settings are not saved when you exit the game:
Fighting Speed
Minimap - All or Troops
Music - On or Off
We hope to place a patch to rectify this oversight on our website
shortly. Our Website can be found at:-
http://www.digint.co.uk
2. When in the "Hire Troops" and "Save Troops" menus be very careful
not to delete the Default Humans, Elves and Greenskins troop
Libraries. Also do not delete any of the troops labelled "CUST"
as you may need them for later Campaign Missions.
If you accidentally delete a default Troop Library or CUST Troop
you will need to Uninstall & Re-install Rival Realms as outlined
above. Remember to backup any saved games or they will be deleted.
