* MAIN MENU *
*************
Throughout the game, you can elect to go to the main menu by clicking on the ROTG OPTIONS icon in the lower left hand corner of the screen. This menu allows you to change any of the Options, view Credits, view Help, start a New Game, return to the current game by clicking Done, or Exit the game entirely.
***********
* OPTIONS *
***********
This selection allows you to customize the game for your personal tastes. Many of the game options can be changed on the fly. However, the sports categories can be adjusted to remove a category that you do not wish to play only at the start a new game before the first player is prompted to spin the spinner. For multiplayer games, this is up to the host player.
Note: Some options will reset themselves to their default settings when a new game is launched. Rules Of The Game(r) was designed so that Joe Banks will reactivate whenever he needs to impart his wisdom and unique insights.
*************************
* ACCURACY OF QUESTIONS *
*************************
All questions and answers in Rules Of The Game(r) have been double-checked for accuracy. The chance does exist, however, that changes by the governing bodies of each sport and the vagaries of the sports and sports records themselves might cause the answer to no longer be correct. We regret any inconvenience.
***************************
* WINDOWS 95/98/ME ISSUES *
***************************
While we do not officially support Windows Millennium, Rules Of The Game(r) will run under that operating system.
ALT-TAB - We do not recommend alt-tabbing away from the game. Rules Of The Game(r) may lose functionality when this is attempted.
*********************
* OTHER GAME ISSUES *
*********************
Rules Of The Game(r) plays in 800x600 video resolution. If your video card does not support this resolution, the game will not run. It may be possible to obtain new video drivers from the manufacturer of the videocard that will support the 800x600 resolution.
During the compatibility testing of Rules Of The Game(r), we occasionally observed some skipping and scratchiness during some of the game audio files when using the Diamond MX400 sound card. If you are experiencing sound problems with this card, please turn off the DirectSound acceleration in the Control Panel.
The Rules Of The Game(r) uninstaller can not remove any files that are created after the game is installed. Thus, the name files of your players are not removed from the hard drive if the game is uninstalled. The player must manually delete these files and folders from the hard drive.
Multiplayer catch-up during a multiplayer game. It is possible that one of the players may wish to enter the options screen during game play when it is not their turn. When this occurs, the game continues as normal. Once the player leaves the options screen and returns to the game, the game needs to catch up with the other players and will show the returning player what has already occurred in the game. While this is occurring, the other players game may appear to slow down and pause.
If a player is joining a multiplayer TCP/IP game and elects to go back to a previous screen before the host starts the game, the joining player needs to reenter the hosts IP address in order to reconnect.
The Chat box for multiplayer games is limited to approximately 59 characters.
In multiplayer games, occasionally the player may notice his/her avatar (character graphic) missing while the host player is setting up the game. Once the host starts the game, the graphic should reappear.
********************************************
* GAMESPY ISSUES WITH RULES OF THE GAME(R) *
********************************************
Gamespy will allow the host of a game to launch the game before the remote player have selected the ready button. This will result in the remote NOT appearing in the host players game. The host will need to quit out of the application and launch a new lobby. To determine if the remote players have clicked on the ready button, the button that appears to the left of the character graphic will turn from red (ready button not selected) to green (ready button selected)
Gamespy will launch Rules Of The Game(r) independently. The player does need to have the Rules Of The Game(r) application running before launching the Gamespy software. Doing so will cause the game to generate the following error message:
There is already an instance of this application running!

If you have a problem resulting from a manufacturing defect in the Software, Infogrames Interactive's and its licensors' entire liability and Your exclusive remedy for breach of this limited warranty shall be the replacement of the Software, within a reasonable period of time and without charge, with a corrected version of the Software. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of relief, incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to You.
