To Install Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004:
*** Please note that the installation program (Demoshield) is not compatible with DVD Drives.
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/XP. Close any other programs that you are running.
2. Place the Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004 in the CD-ROM drive and wait a few seconds
for the install screen to appear.
3. Follow the on screen instructions when they appear.
Note: If the autorun feature is disabled or does not work properly, please follow one
of the manual methods below.
Manual Installation Method One:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/XP. Close any other programs that
you are running.
2. Place the Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004 in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Click on [Start\ and then click on [Run].
4. Type the letter of your CD-ROM drive (usually "D") followed by a (:) and the
word SETUP. Then Click the [OK] button. (Example D:Setup)
5. The install screen will appear. Follow the on- screen instructions to begin the
installation.
Manual Installation Method Two:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/XP. Close any other programs that
you are running.
2. Place the Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004 in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click on the [My Computer] icon from your desktop.
4. Double-click on the CD-ROM icon labeled [SPT4].
5. Double Click on the [Setup] icon.
6. The install screen will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the
installation.
Getting Started after Installation:
1. Place the Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004 in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click on [Start], then select [Programs].
Select Activision Value/ Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004/ Skateboard Park Tycoon 2004 to start the game.
Instant Action:
This mode contains a tutorial, which will help to illustrate how to play the game. Instant Action gives you the ability to build a park and attract sponsors immediately. Once you have unlocked a level in the career, it will also be unlocked in the Instant Action mode.
Career Mode:
This mode gives the user the ability to travel around the country and compete in different events. Some of these events include:
Maximum Coinage: In this level, you will have the ability to Skate around a pre-made skate park and collect gold coins.
In order to complete the level, you will need to finish the level before time runs out with the majority of the coins collected.
Exhibition Challenge: In this level, you will compete against other skaters in a pre-made environment. The skater with the most points when time runs out is the winner.
Monkey See, Monkey Doo: Watch out for the monkey... He has real skateboarding skills! In this level, you must watch a monkey perform tricks and then perform them yourself before time runs out.
Gem Hunter Challenge: Where are the Gems? Quickly skate around the level and collect the hidden gems before time runs out. During this level you may collect stopwatches to increase your time.
Tycoon Cash Challenge:
Build up your skatepark and attract sponsors as you would during Instant Action.
Bone Crusher Challenge: Are you up for this one? Onle the tough will survive... the challenge is to Break every bone in the skaters body while pulling some outrageous tricks.
Skating:
In order to take control of a skater, right click on the skater and click on the circle in the lower right hand corner of the window that appears. Another window will appear, and you may select either Exhibition or Practice mode. Please note that on slower machines, having more fog in the first person skating mode will allow the game to run faster.
While in First-Person-Mode, you may press the F1 key for an entire list of tricks and their commands.
Basic Controls:
up arrow= Forward
left arrow= Left
right arrow= Right
down arrow = Stop
CTRL = ollie
Shift = Grind
