2. Game Installation 
================================================================================

Note: It is strongly recommended to close all running applications, including the 
anti-virus during installation to prevent any potential corruption of the 
installed game.

2.1. Installation

 1. Insert the Surf's Up™ disc into your DVD-ROM drive. If the installer does not 
start on its own, double-click on My Computer and then double-click on the game
icon that appears. 

The "Autorun" program will start the DVD menu. Or the "Setup" program will 
directly start the installer. 
 
 2. To play the game, double-click on the game icon on the desktop if you have 
chosen to have one or on the Surf's Up shortcut in your Programs folder.

On Vista, open the Game Explorer menu and click on the game logo. 
 
2.2. Uninstallation

 1. Click on Start and open the Control Panel.
 
 2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
 
 3. Locate Surf's Up™ on the list and click on the Change/Remove button.

 4. Follow the prompts until the uninstall completes.

2.3. Game Profiles

During uninstallation, you can select to erase your saved games and profiles. In 
the event that you want to keep them, they are located in your My Documents folder.

   3.2. Gamepad Configuration   

 1. Click the Device Mapper shortcut in the Windows XP Start Menu or Windows Vista 
Game Explorer to open the Device Configurator tool.

 2. Click the Add button to create a new configuration.

 3. Check the box next to the controller you want to configure. 

 4. Select either XBOX or PS2 style.

 5. Follow the instructions to configure the controller.

Note: The XBOX 360 controller cannot be remapped. It will always use the default
configuration, even if you’ve added a Device Mapper configuration.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1. Installing video drivers

If you experience any graphical problems, please install the recommended video 
drivers for your video card. Links to the most popular video cards manufacturers 
are available at the end of this document. 

These drivers have been tested with Surf's Up: 

ATI Catalyst 7.4
NVIDIA Forceware Release 90,  Version: 93.71
NVIDIA Forceware Release 100, Version: 100.65

4.2. Installing sound drivers

If you experience any sound problems, please install the latest sound drivers 
available for your sound card. Links to the most popular sound cards manufacturers 
are available at the bottom of this document.

4.3. Windows Service Packs and Updates

It is recommended to install the latest service packs for all PC operating systems.
 
If you encounter one of the issues noted below, please follow Microsoft's solution:

Problem  :  Sound may play slowly or music may not play continuously in Windows XP.

Problem  :  Computers that are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and that are equipped
            with multiple processors that support processor power management features 
            may experience decreased performance

Problem  :  Game performance may be poor on a Windows XP-based computer that is using 
            a dual-core processor

4.4. PC Known issues

 • Windows Task Switching is not fully functional. Avoid pressing alt-tab or other
Windows shortcuts while playing the game.
