The Sims Castaway Stories is the third and final game in The Sims Stories. It was released on January 29, 2008, with a port for Mac OS X released by Aspyr on March 17, 2008.

Instructions for running on Windows 10
- Download the “The_Sims_Castaway_Stories.zip” file from the link above. Make sure you download the file properly and that your internet does not disconnect while downloading.
- Open the downloaded .zip file and extract the “The_Sims_Castaway_Stories_Windows” folder to your desktop. You will need to use a software such as WinRAR to do this.
- Open the extracted “The_Sims_Castaway_Stories_Windows” folder and then open the “Game Files” folder.
- Double click on the file called “AutoRun.exe” and the game setup should start. Go through the setup steps – at one point they will ask you to insert a CD-key. Use the following Serial Code: N78Q-RZKW-7428-DB09-DVTY
- When they prompt you to register, choose “Register Later”. When your installation completes, they will ask if you want to launch the game. Make sure that you do not launch the game and select “Quit” instead.
- Open the “Crack” folder inside the “Game Files” folder.
- Drag & drop (or copy) the “SimsCS.exe” file in there to the folder where you installed the game to. By default this would be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Castaway Stories\TSBin
- When prompted, choose “Replace existing file” or “Copy and replace”.
- You can now launch the game using the shortcut on your desktop.
- Enjoy the game!

I have the legit version and it still won’t start in windows 10 even with typing -w and any compatibility settings, changing Graphic Rules.sgr, running as admin. Any help?
A tip from me: I had the problem that the game only had a resolution of 800×600. To solve this do the following: Go to the gamefolder, TSData / Res / Config there is the Graphics rules.sgr file. You can edit this file. Just find this section:
uintProp maxResWidth 800
uintProp maxResHeight 600
And change it to your resolution. Save and in the game, all resolutions are now displayed for graphics options. And thank you very much for the game <3
I had it on CD but unfortunately it no longer worked.
Oh another thought, I had Sims CPS come in and take my children. A baby was stuck in the crib. No one, not even the nanny could pick the child up. I call that bruised as in not workable or clickable.
Make sure that the people are friends and have a bff with another sim on another lot. Invite “sim” over to another lot, not the one where the baby currently lives. You interact, chat, play games, hug each other and invite a family member in the “bruised” or non functioning household where the baby is stuck in the crib and have that person move in to a different household, bringing the baby with them.
After they say ok hug each other, watch the portal (the 2 torches or entry on to the lot.) The baby will appear and needs a bottle, hunger is same as other sims when they move lots. They are most of the time hungry. The baby will need to be fed and held, don’t play with them after they eat, they will vomit on you lol.
I have bathroom sinks in every bathroom with at least 4 in a house to bathe the child in. I have 2 refrigerators and 2 stoves to allow Sims to cook and not get in each others way, same with the dishwashers. I don’t have this installed yet and my cheat sheets are packed in a “box, which box, no idea” but my notebook is in there with the spots to put telescopes to get abducted on each different lot. I’ll try to look for that at some point. I give you tips in some videos of where to place the telescopes and it needs to be a private place with a clear view to the sky, as they tip you off in instructions on some sites, meaning no trees around, I build entryways, using zero doors since doors get stuck open. the cheap chairs get stuck to where corruption begins on a lot, too. the wooden standard chair, get rid of those asap. So None of those chairs, no doors, there is another issue buying something but I do not recall at this time what it is. I’ll edit then when I think of it. 🙂
Ok reread this and it’s the roofs! They are graphic intense and too tall and seem to corrupt the files or databases quickly. I use zero roofs. Instead I put a stair case to the top floor with a small makeshift building there, bathroom with a hallway pointing away from the sims who is stargazing. After I command them to stop stargazing some will say they are cold, immediately have them take a long hot bath, soak in tub, then use bathroom, go downstairs to eat then off to bed before they have to go to work.
Story Mode: Get rid of the monkey in story play, they are a pain, move someone that you hate out of the lot and take the ape. Once in the database, choose a family etc delete that person and the ape to get them out of queue. you can only have so many waiting.
I use the romance guys to get free or more xp points coins to buy the special things. when you have babies, feed them only the special milk that is bought in there and they will learn faster when children and into adulthood. Those are put there with specific reasons to enhance your games. I have them make the love potion and have the maids move in. They will NOT work. I only got one to work once over the years of play. I instead make them do the housework, still have a maid, cook, they have to fish and they stay home to watch the babies. If you hire nanny’s make sure to fire them before the child grows up or you may have nanny hell. I had them coming every day to one lot. Only solution, move someone with a child to that lot, fire the nanny’s maybe more than one, and once you run a couple of days with none showing up, you should be good.
I am running 8mb ram I would not suggest the game run in 4 mb of ram, it’s hard on the system. Only have your sims running. Shut all others but antivirus off in the clock area. … check hard drive sleep time, screensaver shut that off, change some of those settings so it won’t put your game to sleep. That causes problems. If you will be gone from your game over 5 minutes I highly recommend save, exit rather than minimizing it to tool bar.
The setting in full screen mode, don’t choose the highest resolution. i have those settings showing in that video of my Configuration from EA. A tech walked me through that setup back then because he loved the game too. As I was on the phone he would tell me which settings to change. That’s why that video is so important. The best is the 840??? 800something x 400 something setting. You can play and I only play in full screen mode I said something in here that hinted that’s not good. It is good, best for game play then nothing else bothers you. I close all web pages and all apps so nothing is open and running while I play my game. I use my phone to search web for tips or how to’s. go to neoseekers site for a lot of tips from all of us when we were playing back then. You will see some issues that ya’ll are having are the same ole ones that we all dealt with 2008-2010 when a lot of people were playing this game.
The toys for toddlers. Have people play with them and the rabbit toy. The other 2 only household members can play one on one with them.
The xylophone gives you creativity points when it gets older, you should see a jump in it. The rabbit toy that spins, make sure to have a large empty area for a baby to play. I put down a soft rug for the babies comfort. As a person comes on the lot, click on the toy, choose Play with, and chose their name. I’ve had up to 10 plus ppl playing with my babies lol
The one that is like tools helps them with their logic if I’m not mistaken, they beat it up and down on the ground, I think. it’s like fitting a round peg in a square hole, that one lol So those toys all have features and reasons for being there.
The doll reminds me of a voodoo doll will allow people to talk to people that they do not know. 😉 meaning they can fulfill their social. Playing chess is always good for logic.
Oh in story mode to get your ape faster, have it climb a coconut tree, not papaya, and sniff the air. That increases it’s logic if I remember correctly and he will get raises and make more money. Have him chase some sims on the lot, but it will make them tired and hungry. I only do it on the lot after I have “talked” to all or met the guests, etc been friends with my main sim. gosh I hope this helps a bit the game is my all time favorite. My daughter had one, so she gave me hers, i have a backup that way. I was happy to see the zip and will try to install it in the next couple of weeks and let you know what problems I encounter on setup. I think my old EA emails are in one of my old accounts. I have them in archive. I will copy and paste what they told me back in 2008, to 2012 when they still supported the game.

Enjoy and do not add packages, I found they corrupt the game at a fast rate, those packages for new features, more waters, clothes etc. I tried many back in the day and it just caused problems with my game.

Hi guys, I found some notes in one of the video’s that might help you all. It’s suggestions when setting up your lots, etc.
post date Oct of 2017 when I was playing on my gaming desktop. I have a laptop with no dvd and don’t have the crack that is needed to run in No CD mode. it was -cd or something. I saw someone posted about that. On this page, I loaded it completely going to the bottom and then hit the control P for print. Change destination to print to pdf which is a microsoft (windows) option. It will preserve links to videos and posts here.

I just set this lot up. One of my other 3 guys who is pregnant played chess with him and they are friends. I think that helps. I forgot to put the UFO crash sites on the outside of the lot. It’s easier to become abducted with the UFO’s I believe.
I mention that I’ve never had 4 pregnant abducted men at the same time in this video. It’s not that I cannot, it’s more of a choice of not having so many pregnant men running around. lol They are more limited as to what they can do depending on gestation, or how pregnant they are. They get sick to their stomach after eating. And their needs are higher. I always cook when I have a pregnant sim on the lot.
I also put all outdoor things in the house so that children will not become overheated. All you do is build your house, knock a wall out of the room that you want outdoor types of things in. After done, close the room back up with the build wall tool.
I have been abducted on all lots, both game and story modes, some with 2 or more places to put the telescope on. I use flooring to identify the space while in build mode for telescope placement.
I play FarmTown on Facebook but am aggravated at the game and the direction that it has taken in the last year, so I have been playing my Sims Castaway Stories a bit right now. This game may be corrupt so I am staying in it for a while trying not to exit too many times. I had completed Story Mode, built on the lot, left this one alone and created another 2 profiles playing them.
When I loaded this, this morning, or was it last night… I saw that I was back in Story Mode and Wanmami Aka Game Mode was unlocked. I was missing lot of things, dishwasher, jukebox etc. I started Story Mode again to fix my mistakes. Some things I simply was not given credit for completing the tasks. It was user error, mine, cancelling a following action which I think cancelled my reward acceptance. I have played this so much that I know what is coming next and I try to rush it. So it’s totally my fault on this one.
I first finished my game, then came in to game mode to play and piddle. So I may not be able to keep this particular profile. I had to delete 1 a few months back due to some sort of corruption. I mistakenly deleted the wrong profile, I had just gotten Orson Abducted, so I was not happy.
I wish there was a better way to remove profiles in the game, but I have made that same mistake before. I have no answer but be very careful!
I hope these tips help those of you playing. I need to merge my youtube accounts, creating another mistakenly. I am cassi2m and castawaystories1 which failed cannot log in then castawaystories2 is the other profile from wayyy back. I will ask youtube how I can merge these together to have just 1 profile. I’m also calamity2m on here too so 3 profiles geez. It’s hard to keep these straight.
I thought the others were closed or gone, but apparently they are active. If you type Humud Abduction Castaway Stories that should get you to my old videos which were created when I began, on my old Sony Windows Vista laptop. The old videos are not good quality. I played this game daily fora couple of years trying to find all abduction placement of telescopes.

I keep telling them that they need to release a new version. I bought and played Medieval but did not enjoy it as much as this one.

Tips do not use roof’s and do not use doors only use entry ways. doors get stuck and the roofs cause issues with the graphics, too heavy Plus if you use tiles, floor tiles for top floors, you can place a stair case to enable them to get to the telescope on the top floor for them to be abducted.
You need a “clear view” to the stars that’s your key, meaning nothing around them. If you have people wanting to stargaze non males, Knowledge females, do not let them. Put the guys out there for a great chance of abduction.
The benefits of alien babies are these:
They learn faster, get the special milk, in rewards to have them learn at twice or more the speed. Have people sit with them on the floor when toddlers to learn faster. Their personalities are odd, no control over that, but it’s fun just the same. Sometimes you may have a complete slob to a neat freak 10 on neatness. They have more ticks in the personality etc characteristics when you set up a new one. Compare a baby in the house to an alien baby, it’s varies but i think it may be another 5 or so ticks.
I would make my abducted dude friends with one who was knowledge, more rewards points then when bdays come up invite the family, siblings over. It’s really a cool game and they put a lot of thought into the way it is designed. I wish there was a follow-up but no one did. If you have questions, I will try to help but watch my configuration video for best results. And remember to set up the Compatibility mode since this is an older game. Watch youtube video’s on how to achieve this. It’s too much to explain.
Hi Guys I have information on the game but I created a video years ago about the configuration from EA, Electronic Arts, the makers of this game. Please see this link and pause the video and check your settings to make sure they are set right. I remember them stating that we have to stay within range of these, plus if you find the application, right click on your shortcut on your desktop (normally where it defaults) right click see Properties, find target > click is > and go to the application, see properties you may need to run in Windows Vista mode I think was the best build that I can recall…eventhough you may be running a win10 computer which is 64 bit. I hope that helps a bit with some configuration. Don’t allow it to “stretch” to fill screen that causes some corruption in the data files, the ones which are stored in your folder once the game is set up and launched. Look at neoseekers.com for more and my “where to place the telescope” notebook is actually packed away or I could tell you where exactly to place it to have your dude be abducted by aliens…which leads to alien babies. In my notebook I have placement by which squares from the edges or portals to get abducted on every lot in freeplay then a couple that i found in after the game is completed and you are in game play. I hope that helps. 🙂
Ps I still love the game although I started playing in 2008, no dvd drive on my laptop and EA is not offering this for download, it’s no longer in my games from EA. I see that it’s among the ones abandoned. sigh I love this game and wish that they had followed up with another. This is my All time favorite game!

It does work, you most likely installed it wrong, it’s also outdated for WIN10 and you have to add your graphics drivers to the game.
Do you mean a different set of drivers specifically for it?

Hi! I was able to get the game running but the graphics are very messed up. The water glitches and there’s dark blue patches all over the place. If you can direct me to any tools that can help me fix these issues I would really appreciate it!
