    Hi thanks so much for the detailed installation info for Sims Complete Collection! I followed all the instructions and it works great. My only query is: is there a way to make the windowed version bigger? I can’t drag it at the corners to make it any bigger and it’s quite tiny on my monitor. Thanks!

      Yes, there is a way, just start the game by starting first “Start.exe” or “Setup.exe” and just click on “Play” and you can choose the size.

    Hey guys I was having a glitch where it would just say unknown error occoured aborting setup, if this is your problem do these steps, when you open game files you may see a folder called eraser, what you want to do is run it and dont worry it wont delete anything from any sims game except when you tried to install it, it basically just cleans up any errors from the instalation (sry I have bad spelling cuz im dyslexic) then right click on setup go to properties then compatability and check run as administraitor and run in compatability mode for windows 7 after that click apply and the setup should be working if not I reccomend you turn off your antivirus and reinstall the files then copy the steps above I hope this helped 🙂

    Tried unistalling it but it said “unknown error encountered…aborting setup” and when i tred to download it again before deleting it said the same thing

    FOLLOW THESE STEPS PRECISELY FOR GAME TO WORK

    Put “The_Sims_Complete_Collection_Win_Setup_EN.zip” file on your desktop and extract it w/ winrar or z7 program, there will now be a folder of the same name: open that folder.

    NEXT YOU NEED TO RIGHT-CLICK ON THE FILE “Sims” APPLICATION, RUN COMPATIBILTY MORE OR CHOOSE RUN COMPATIBILTY FOR WINDOWS XP (SERVICE PACK 2 or 3).

    NEXT RIGHT-CLICK AGAIN AND CHOOSE “Send To” AND THEN “Desktop” – this will send a shortcut to your desktop.

    NEXT RIGHT-CLICK THE SHORTCUT, CLICK “Properties” AND IN THE TARGET LINE TYPE ” -w ” AT THE END OF THE TEXT IN THAT BOX.

    it will look like this [ “C:Program Files (x86)MaxisThe SimsSims.exe” -w ] BUT WITHOUT THE BRACKETS.

    Doing this will open the game in “Windowed Mode,” if you do not do this last step THE GAME WILL CRASH.

    When you first run the game it will take A REAAALLY LOOONG TIME to set itself up and load the main neighbourhood, PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE it will work eventually.

    REMEMBER TO FOLLOW EVERY STEP PRECISELY OR THE GAME ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!

      I didn’t get the “choose your language” window… But then I jumped to “the sims crack” folder step, did the “-w” thing and it worked! Thanks for the tutorial!

        When you run the installer the folder is created automatically, there is no reason to change the default install location unless you are trying to install it on an external memory drive like D: — in which case the file location will look like this D:Program Files (x86)MaxisThe Sims

        After you select the file location, install wizard will ask you to define a program category; CHOOSE GAMES NOT MAXIS

      Followed the directions to the ‘T’ and things appear to be working wonderfully!!!! If anything changes and it doesn’t work I’ll repost.

      I did this and it installed fine, game opened but I’ve had it on overnight and it is still on the neighbourhood screen with loading screens, I know you said it takes a long time but did it take that long for you? Thanks

      The installer asked for me to insert CD-ROM and I obviously don’t have it so the installation won’t finish. What do I do now?

      So, I did everything you said and it works! BUT, I can’t expand the game. The screen just stays small. How can I make the game full screen?

      My hero!
      To those who had the ‘unknown error: aborting installation’ problem–I had that issue and it was caused by a previous (failed) attempt to get the game to install. I followed the instructions at this page and deleted the folder mentioned in the comments, and then I was able to go back and follow the instructions from sanskript exactly, and the game launched successfully.

      I followed everything and I didnt get the blue window .When i finally got to the end it says that the color was too high and to chose a resolution. however I dont get the blue screen at all the game skips it entirely . what did i do wrong?

    When I press start and the thing pops up and says install, it keeps coming up with unknown error, setup aborted. Anybody know how to fix this problem?
