I just installed it and when I open start.exe it says i have to be logged in as an admin, and when I open it as an admin and click on play it just loads and doesn’t open.

Having an issue where I literally can’t play the game. It’ll load up just fine and everything, but when it gets to the neighbourhood menu, the neighbourhood is completely empty and I can’t click on anything. I can’t swap to a different neighbourhood page, I can’t create a family, I can’t go downtown, I can’t even exit out of the game. I have to control-alt-delete and restart my computer. Any way that I can fix this or is my game completely broken?

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that didn’t work.

Everything is great except for one thing. When I talk to to other sims about interests, it’s always a negative experience. When I look at the sims interests, everything is set to zero.

I got it working by copying the start botton to desktop dont use directly from the original. Then i followed the steps took the crack put in into the installation file then created a short cut to the desktop for the game again dont click on original it took me a hole day to get it to work

I’ve been able to get in and it working, even managed to create a sim! But all the text boxes “disappear” and I have to keep clicking in random places for them to show up and then remember where the “ok” button is. I also can’t see any of the furniture until I go to place it. It’s like text or icons are non-existant – any idea?

Okay! So I got it to work – here’s what I’ve learnt getting this to work (thanks to the other commenters – I’ve mostly just compiled everything I did):

      1. To first install it go into the game files you’ve extracted. Go into ‘Support’ and choose the setup.exe from there to install it.
      2. Use one of the codes in the comments – I used: BYNW-EUXH-Z3D2-GS5J-CPF9
      3. Before starting it for the first time, go into the extracted files again. Go into “The Sims Crack” and copy the Sims file.
      4. Go into where you installed the game and replace the current Sims file by pasting and overriding.
      5. Right click – send to Desktop as a short cut
      6. Right click desktop icon – properties – Compatibility – run this programme in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Also Run this programme as an administrator needs to be selected.

So I did all this and got it working but then had the issue from my original comment. Today, i’ve loaded up PC (didn’t open game yet), but saw a comment suggesting to open it in 640×480. So:
      1. Right click desktop icon – properties – Compatibility – tick select in 640 x 480 screen resolution.

Opened it up and it’s running perfectly. I can see the text boxes and furniture. I can save and so far no other issues! (But will keep you posted as I’ve only played 5 minutes). I’m running computer with windows 10 just as info.

Hopefully this will help some of you 🙂

I got the game running and was able to create a sim/household, but my neighborhood looked empty. I thought I had to build all houses from scratch, but turns out they just weren’t shown to me. When I made my sim move in to an empty house (I only clicked the lot on a whim and read the description), I was still seeing the neighborhood AND the furnishings inside his house, not the house. Then when my sim moved, everything fell apart haha. It looked like the human centipede

My created sims won’t move into their house? I make a sim then buy a blank lot, then they disappear and I have zero funds when the lot loads in. The Sim straight up doesn’t exist in the lot.

Edit: Solved the issue! Run it as an administrator and that should work.

I can’t find the Maxis folder that supposed to be in the document section of my computer, so that I can add Mods. Can anyone help?

I’m so confused. if I’m supposed to use the setup application as the application to run the game to play it why would it keep asking me to uninstall. Or I keep getting an error saying autoplay cant run without installation cd or asking if the program was installed properly. I’ve literally done nothing but the instructions. HELP PLEASE
