    For some reason my laptop video card causes the game to close because it doesn’t support “Thousands of colors” Does anyone else have this issue?

      This is how you fix that issue:
      Right-click the game executable file.
      Click Properties.
      Click the Compatibility tab and enable any of these options (one at a time): Reduce color mode. Run in 640×480 screen resolution. Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. Run this program as an administrator.

      same here. It just spinning the blue right then nothing happened.

    Help, I did everything according to the directions and it still isn’t working 🙁 Just keeps saying “could not find The Sims data directory”. Computer is Acer Nitro 5 on the newest Windows.

    no clue why but ive been trying to open the stupid setup.exe thingy and it has not opened no matter how many times ive reset my pc, any tips?

      i am assuming that this is NOT an iso based on the instructions? i absolutely despise having to run the cd each time i play these games, lol. (pointless comment really, as i will find out when it downloads, but i like to talk.)

      I have windows 11. Click the start.exe file after extracting from the winrar. Nothing happened just a blue ring spinning then disappeared.

    Sul Sul,
    I am in need of absolutely dire assistance, everything goes well following the instructions until I arrive at #5, the popup did not appear telling me the file already exists. The copied file simply appears as “shortcut”. when I click to launch the game a FATAL ERROR occurs that says “Could not find The Sims data directory”. I changed the files compatibility to windows vista (pack 2) but that didnt fix the error.
    please help, I want nothing more than to play this game again!!!

      Hi, I don’t know if you’re still having this problem or not but I’m running The Sims on my windows 10 and I managed to solve the issue by installing the game from default installation destination. After that the “Sims.Exe” should show up. If not, try reinstalling the game and disable your antivirus temporary as it can deleted the exe file. Just a friendly note, The Sims Creator won’t work unless you find the crack outside this web. I saw one on youtube but unfortunately I forgot the link. You’ll have to find that on your own.
