I have been trying to get this to work ever since I upgraded from Win 10 to 11 and just could not get it to work with the installed disc versions. Soooo, I took a chance on The Complete Collection dl and after a few tries on different things I managed to get it working on my Win 11 PC to my surprise. My issue was it would not accept the cracked sims exe file from the cracked folder when I dragged it into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims folder nor would it replace the existing sims exe file that was already there. I ended up trying a slight variation of what I did on Win 10. I renamed the cracked sims exe file to Sims New then removed the previous Sims exe. I then right clicked on the Sims New exe file, clicked properties, went to compatibility, checked boxes Win XP Service pack 2 and run this program as an administrator, hit apply and then ok. From there double click on Sims New exe icon and it should boot up full screen. I did not create a shortcut from the Sims New exe file, i started directly from that exe file itself (fyi) Hope this helps some of you, totally worked for my standalone PC.

I had this pop up after getting it to run and having my computer shut down unexpectedly. I was able to fix it thanks to this: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t22742-the-sims-1-installation-unknown-error-encountered-aborting-setup#

I’ll paste the shorthand here, in case that post is ever gone.

      >Navigate to the location C:\Program files (x86). Make sure to unhide all hidden files/folders. You should see a folder named “InstallShield Installation Information”. Go inside it.

      >There should be an entry for The Sims 1, with the folder name {F2527115-B8BF-4FDB-B5DA-5AADFB7C13E1}. If you see such a folder in your case, delete it, and try the installation again. Pay close attention to the folder name, so that you don’t delete anything wrong! If you don’t have such a folder, you should check all other existing folders instead, under InstallShield Installation Information. Navigate inside each subfolder and open the “Setup.ini” files. Keep looking under “AppName” until you find the folder that contains “The Sims Complete” under AppName. And that is the folder you will need to delete.

I managed to install it and when I open it all the in-game expansion descriptions keep popping up and disappearing nonstop.

Any idea if this runs on Windows 11? I’ve extracted the files, then “setup.exe” does not work. I’ve tried to run, computer asks to allow it, so I do, a loading icon appears and then nothing opens.

Thank you, unfortunately it doesn’t work. Running on Windows 11, nothing happens when I click on start.exe (post extraction)

The Sims Creator won’t work, it keeps asking for a CD. Is there a crack for this? I really need it. Thanks in advance.

Downloaded it and it says “Setup is having trouble shutting down the autoplay program. Please restart your computer and try again” and then it also says no data found for sims complete collection.
