    I have followed all of the steps as mentioned above, all the way to making the program compatible for Windows XP (service pack 2) and selecting ‘run as administrator’, but when i double click on the icon i get the following message: “could not find The Sims data directory”. I have no idea what to do now. Some advice would be helpful.

      I found this was happening when I didn’t right click and copy the sims.exe from the sims crack file and paste/replace in the directory where it was installed

    Hey so I’ve downloaded the file and extracted them but i can’t see start.exe anywhere? I can see ‘start’ but no exe and when i click on this it doesn’t bring anything up- am i looking in the wrong place? searching for it brings nothing up either.

    Please change the screenshot, some people will expect that the picture in here (Screenshot image) posted.

    The game is downloadable and runnable in Windows 2000 as November, 2024.

    Palemoon is used for downloading the file but the computer (PC/Laptop) should not turn off when the download process is ongoing and the WiFi should not be disrupted or else you will have to restart the game.

    If you cannot uninstall/reinstall the game, you have to delete the file and the items in the Regedit.

    The game just freezes on the loading screen every time I try to start it. I’ve ran it in compatibility mode for Windows 7, applied the 4GB patch too.

      I’m late sorry, you probably don’t even care about this anymore but you gotta click “copy” and paste it into the maxis:D itll ask you the copy and replace.

    Hi, I am experiencing an issue while trying to install the game. After pressing ‘start.exe’ and selecting the language, when I click the install icon, a window with an error pops up -> “Error installing iKernel.exe
    Cannot copy iKernel.exe to ‘C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32’. Make sure you have the appropriate permissions to copy files to this folder. (0x20)” and I can only click ‘ok’ button. What can I do? Please help 🙂

    Hi. I went through the setup process (it would not let me place the file, only create a desktop shortcut, but I proceeded with the instructions anyway)…it loaded the launcher, but said to “insert disk 1” and would not let me pass the message!! I even tried to switch it to (pack 3). HELP!!!!!!!
    P.S. I haven’t played this since my childhood, so I was VERY EXCITED to play it (The Sims: Complete Collection was my favorite back then)… 🙁
