Game Description

Empire Earth is a real-time empire-building strategy video game developed by Stainless Steel Studios published by Sierra On-Line in November 2001. The game has two sequels, Empire Earth II, published in April 2005, and Empire Earth III. The game also has a spin-off named after it, called Empire: Dawn of the Modern World, which has the same developers and genre. In principle, Empire Earth is similar to Age of Empires, with the major difference being that it offers a range of ages ranging from prehistoric ages to technological ages of the future.

    • Myself has installed it and it worked well, but I do have to say, you might have to check firstly, that your DirectX version has to be updated when playing games in Windows 10. The default installation of DirectX is not sufficient to run games on your PC, since most of the updated libraries are missing. Apart from that, check that Visual C libraries from 2010 and newer are also installed, both 32-bit and 64-bit if your Windows is a 64-bit edition. From there, also note that at time of release, PC’s only had about 1GB memory or so, so if that may also cause problems, check online on how to limit memory for the game, since it is pure 32-bit support only.

    • The mouse does appear, but it has a pixelated view, since Windows are using the Aero system. For better performance in older games, go to your Control Panel, System applet, then click on Advanced Settings, now check under the Appearance/Performance tab and deselect the Windows Aero/Peek setting, as well as the shadows and all animation settings. That should help with the cursor.

  3. I need help, When I change to a higher resolution of 2056 1080 resolution don’t know what 32 16 bit does? i click ok and crashed. I can play the game just fine with some glitches occurring in buildings without changing the resolution, does People have solutions to fix when applying higher resolution?

    • The game was released in 2001/2. Then PC’s did not have higher resolutions than 1366×768, or 1600×900. Use any of these settings, not higher, since it will crash.
