Welcome to My Little Pony!

This file contains helpful information, late-breaking
news and a description of certain functions which
were not implemented when the manual was created.

GAME PLAY UPDATES

The following game hints may be helpful while playing
in Ponyland!

When you start the game the first time as a new user,
the butterfly will give you a tutorial on taking care
of your pony.

If you would like to skip this

information, just click on the blank space above the
Exit button on the toolbar.

Alternately, you can enter

any of the buildings in the pony village.

If your pony's Rainbow Meter is full but she refuses to
jump even a single jump in the paddock, she may be sick.
Try giving her some medicine to make her feel better.

AUDIO LEVELS

Volume levels have been adjusted optimally for game play.
Note however, that if you experience offset levels,
adjustments can be made using the windows sound system.

DIRECTX 5.2 AND COMPATIBILITY

My Little Pony requires Microsoft DirectX 5.2
drivers installed and correctly functioning on your
system.

If you experience difficulty with DirectX

5.2, contact your sound or video card manufacturers
to obtain their latest drivers.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the game only displays a black screen when it is run,
DirectDraw Hardware Acceleration may be turned off.

To turn on DirectDraw Hardware Acceleration on your
system, insert the My Little Pony CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
drive.

If auto-play is enabled, select the Cancel button

when the My Little Pony window appears.

Double-click on

My Computer on your desktop, and then right-click on the My
Little Pony CD-ROM and select Open from the menu.

the Use DirectDraw Hardware Acceleration box is checked, and
click the OK button.

VIDEO CARD CAPABILITY

My Little Pony must be played on a video card

capable of 800x600 screen resolution at a bit depth
setting of 16 bits. The card and software drivers
must be DirectX 5 compatible. If you experience
problems or difficulty with graphics, contact your
card manufacturer for the latest documentation
and drivers.

You may experience problems running the game if
you have a Trident 9660 video card installed in your
system.

FONT PROBLEMS

If the dates or names in your Pony Book are getting
cut off, you may be using Windows 95's Large Font
option.

To change your default system font to a

small font, you must use the Display Control Panel.
From the desktop, select Start
Panel

Then, select the Settings tab and

choose Small Fonts from the Font size drop down box.
Click the Apply button to confirm the change.

DISK CAPACITY AND SWAPFILE SPACE

Regardless of your My Little Pony installation
choice ('Minimum, Typical, Custom'), it is
recommended that you have at least 50MB free space

on your hard drive before running the game. If
disk space is low, you may experience crashing and
or graphics drop outs.

For best performance, ensure

that you have at least 50MB free space after
installing My Little Pony.

A swap file (virtual memory) is temporary storage
space on your hard drive which programs use for
temporary storage of data.

My Little Pony

will use this space when it is running, then it
will free this space when the game is terminated.

To view swap file information, from the Windows
Toolbar, select the Start button

tab and click the Virtual Memory Button.

For best results,

you should let Windows Manage the Virtual memory
for you.
