    i tried to download the game but it shows me a error ‘The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_26.dll was not found.reinstalling the program may fix this problem.’ what should i do?

    my brothers and sisters in christ, if you are getting the missing DLL error on launch (as a lot of you do) you need to download the directx9 end user runtime. This, and other similar errors, will happen a lot with old games and other abandonware, specially if you don’t usually deal with old software.
    If you are still confused, here’s a small step by step guide:
    1 – Google your error (d3dx9 dll missing/error will get you there)
    2 – You should find lots of links, don’t click any that aren’t official Microsoft websites. You should find either a download link for “DirectX End-User Runtime” or an official blog post detailing similar issues that will get you to the download page.
    3 – Download it and install it.

    Congrats, you’ve probably fixed it.
    Should mention that I didn’t provide any links as those will probably get blocked.
    If you somehow really needed this comment to help you fix your issue, keep the following in mind for future reference:
    You are probably not the first person to have that issue, google it and you’ll most likely find a solution. If googling the error you got doesn’t give you any answers, try changing it up a bit, instead of searching for something like “d3dx9_26 error”, search for things like “d3dx9 old game fix”, and you’ll eventually fix your problem.
    I really didn’t think there would be so many people struggling with googling something, but a lot of comments underneath this one apparently did and so this comment exists.

    not working. after instaling when i try to open the game it keeps saying that it cannot find d3dx9_26.dll
    says that i should try to reinstall but i’ve done that and keeps al the same
