I. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum system requirements for "Jimmy Neutron vs Jimmy Negatron"
--Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP
--266 MHz Pentium II processor (400 or above recommended)
--64 MB of RAM (64 or above recommended)
--8x CD-ROM (16X or above recommended)
--8MB Video Card (DirectX 8 compatible 3D hardware accelerator video card recommended)
--DirectX 8 and SoundBlaster compatible sound card
--Approximately 250 MB of available uncompressed hard drive space
This game uses Microsoft's DirectX 8 technology, which requires your system to have the latest
Windows drivers that fully support DirectX 8. For more information on DirectX, see the DirectX
section of this readme file.
When playing "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" on a minimum specification computer, be sure that no other
programs are open in Windows, as this will cause the game to play more slowly than normal.

II. INSTALLING THE GAME
-----------------------------
Before installing the game, close all other applications. Also make sure Virtual Memory (located
in your System Control Panel under Performance) is not disabled.
1. Insert the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" Disc into your CD-ROM drive and wait a few moments until the
"Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" splash screen appears. If the splash screen does not appear, please
refer to the AutoPlay section of this readme file.
2. Click the Install button to begin the installation process and follow the on-screen
instructions.
3. During the installation process, you will be prompted to install the latest Microsoft DirectX
8 drivers if you do not already have them. After installation of DirectX 8 is complete, you
will need to restart your computer for the new drivers to take effect. For more information
on DirectX 8, see the DirectX 8 section of this file.
4. After installation, you can run the game by choosing Jimmy Neutron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron/Jimmy
Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron in the Start Menu, by double-clicking the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" shortcut
on your desktop or clicking the Play button on the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" splash screen. To
play "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron", the Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron CD must be in your CD-ROM drive at
all times.

III. UNINSTALLING THE GAME

To uninstall the game, select Jimmy Neutron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron\Uninstall
Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron from the Start Menu or click the Uninstall button on the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron"
splash screen.
NOTE: You should always uninstall the game using the Uninstaller provided.
If you manually remove the game from your hard drive by dragging the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron"
folder to the Recycle Bin, certain files may be left behind causing problems if you reinstall the
game at a later time.

IV. STARTING THE GAME
---------------------------
After installing "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" you can run the game by choosing Jimmy Neutron/Jimmy Neutron
vs. Jimmy Negatron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron in the Start Menu, by double-clicking the "Jimmy Neutronvs. Jimmy Negatron"
shortcut on your desktop, or clicking the Play button on the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" splash screen
that appears after the game AutoPlays. To play "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron", the Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron CD
must be in your CD-ROM drive at all times.
If your computer's video card does not support 3D graphics, you will need to start the game in SOFTWARE MODE.
To do this, choose Jimmy Neutron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron SOFTWARE in the Start Menu.

VI. TROUBLESHOOTING
-------------------------
THQ thoroughly tests its games on a variety of systems before they are released, but it is
virtually impossible to test on all combinations of software and hardware. Many of the issues
you may encounter are caused by device drivers for video cards, sound cards and CD-ROM drives
that are not fully compatible with the Windows operating system and/or DirectX. The following
troubleshooting tips are intended to assist you in solving some of the common issues you might
experience in relation to the game.
-------DIRECTX 8-------
During the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" installation process, the program will determine if
Microsoft DirectX 8 needs to be installed on your computer. If so, the Microsoft DirectX 8 setup
program will install the appropriate files on your computer. After installation of DirectX 8,
you may be prompted to restart your machine for the new drivers to take effect.
If you chose not to install DirectX 8, and you find that later you need to install it, follow
these directions:
1. Insert "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" Disc into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Wait a few moments until the "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" splash screen appears.
3. Click on the Install DirectX 8 button. This will launch the Microsoft DirectX 8 setup
program. Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you have AutoPlay disabled, you can manually launch the Microsoft DirectX 8 setup program by
doing the following:
1. Insert "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop, then double-click on the CD icon in the
My Computer window.
3. After the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" window is open, double-click on the DXSTEUP Icon.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
For those of you unfamiliar with DirectX, it is an API (Application Programming Interface) set
that increases the functionality and speed at which games play under the Windows operating
system. These API's allow direct access to the enhanced features of hardware under Windows.
With DirectX, a program has instant access to the hardware, allowing for great advances in
graphics, sound, video, 3D and network capabilities of games.
If you have other Windows games on your computer, chances are you already have an earlier version
of DirectX installed. In this case, the Microsoft DirectX 8 setup program will update your
files. This should not affect any games using previous versions of DirectX.
Should you encounter problems with DirectX, go to http://www.microsoft.com/directx/ for
additional information.
-------AUTOPLAY-------
If the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" splash screen does not appear after inserting the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" CD, try performing the following steps:
1. With the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" CD in your CD-ROM drive, double-click on the My
Computer icon on your desktop or right-click on it and select the Open option.
2. In the View pull-down menu, select Refresh.
3. Double-click on the CD icon in the window or right-click on it and choose the AutoPlay
option.
4. After the "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" splash screen appears, click on the Play button
(it will appear as Install if you have not yet installed the game).
If the splash screen still does not appear, please check the following:
1. Make sure the CD is clean and properly placed in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Verify that your CD-ROM driver is optimized for use with Windows. To do this, open the
Control Panel and double-click on the System icon. Click on the Performance tab. If any of
your hardware drivers are not fully optimized for use with Windows, they will be listed here
with an explanation of the exact problem and suggestions on how to fix it.
3. Verify that the Auto-Insert Notification for your CD-ROM is enabled. To do this, perform the
following steps:
a. Choose the System Properties dialog box by right-clicking on the My Computer icon and
then clicking on Properties.
b. Choose the Device Manager tab in the dialog box.
c. Select and double click CD-ROM.
d. Select your CD-ROM drive and click the Properties button.
e. Select the Settings tab of the Properties dialog box.
f. Make sure the Auto-insert notification box is checked. If not, click on it to make
it checked.
g. Click OK to accept your changes.
h. Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.
i. Select the Refresh option located in the View pull-down menu of your system window.
When the game icon appears, double click on it. The "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron"
splash screen should appear after a few moments.
If for some reason you do not wish to use AutoPlay, you can turn it off using the following
steps:
1. Choose the System Properties dialog box by right-clicking on the My Computer icon and then
clicking on Properties.
2. Choose the Device Manager tab in the dialog box.
3. Select and double click CD-ROM.
4. Select your CD-ROM drive and click the Properties button.
5. Select the Settings tab of the Properties dialog box.
6. Click the Auto-insert notification box so that it is unchecked.
7. Click OK to accept your changes.
-------VIDEO CARD ISSUES-------
Certain video cards are unable to run "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron" at its expected performance
levels. The following are some known issues.
MATROX MILLENIUM or MATROX G100- The Game does not function properly when running on a Matrox
Millennium 2 or Matrox G100 video card. Items that have transparency layers will appear to be
surrounded by black boxes. Graphic corruptions and gameplay issues occur with both of these
cards.
TNT 2 CHIPSET CARDS- When using a card with a TNT 2 chipset do not start the game after your
monitor has gone into power saving mode. Graphic corruptions will occur.
To rectify this, you will need to turn off your computer's power saving mode.
1. Open My Computer by double-clicking on the icon.
2. Select and double-click Control Panel.
3. Select and double-click Display.
4. Click the Screen Saver tab on the Display Properties window.
5. Under Energy Saving Features of Monitor, click Settings.
6. Change 'System Standby' to Never.
7. Change 'Turn Off Monitor' to Never.
8. Click Apply.
9. Click Okay.
RIVA 128 CHIPSETS and nVIDIA- Graphic corruptions may occur in the game. Make sure you have
downloaded the latest drivers for your card. For their websites.

-------GAME LAUNCH PROBLEMS-------
Q: I try to launch the game, but it freezes my system!
A: Your video card may only support 2D graphics. If this is true, you will need to play the game
in SOFTWARE mode. To do this, choose Jimmy Neutron/Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy NegatronJimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron
SOFTWARE from the Start Menu. If this does not correct the problem, please contact our Customer Support.
Q: The game seems to studder, and doesn't run smoothly. Is there anything I can do about this?
A: Your system may be at or below the minimum requirements for the game. Make sure that all other
programs are closed before trying to run "Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron". If this does not correct the
