Game Description
Robert E. Lee: Civil War General is a 1996 computer wargame developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra On-Line. Set during the American Civil War, it tasks the player with leading the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia to victory against the Union Army of the Potomac. Impressions sought to make Civil War General accessible to wargame newcomers by streamlining its gameplay, and the Panzer General series was a reference point for its design and title.

I’m getting the WING32.dll error, as well. Still hoping someone could help out here, lol.
Cannot get game to run. Get an error message stating: “The code execution cannot proceed because WING32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”
Did try to reinstall with virus protection paused, but to no avail.
Simply download WING32.dll and put the file in game’s main folder 😉
tried that and didnt work. any suggestions
that wont work …you need to extract it to your c: drive , make sure you launch the setup program in compatibility mode for win xp service pack 2 , and run as admin …it will not run the setup program off an iso or disk…just extract it and install it from your hd….to play it you will need to force 640×480 resolution and disable full screen optimizations …change your desktop to 640×480 also temporarily till you can get in and change display…i think its 8 bit graphics or something lol enjoy ive played it on win 7 10 and 11…one of my favorite games from childhood
Tried your suggestion and I am still getting the WING32.dll message.
