    i downloaded no problem and have been playing for several weeks. went in to play tonight and my whole game save is gone. its like the game did a factory reset cause all the settings have reverted and the popup tutorial type things that appear when first playing were showing up. any idea whats happened and how i can avoid this in the future? is there any way to back up my games save files going forward?

    i’ve installed and go to run as administrator …. and it changes resolution, starts up game but just sits there. so close, but doesnt work, doesnt actually load into the game… just sits trying to lauch the game. are there any games on this website that ACTUALLY WORK or is that all this website is is just downloading files that never work and just sit on my hardrives to take up space on my pc

    Hi, everything went perfect, but in the game even i changed the shadow setting to medium a black square is still appearing, any solutions please?

    Mine gets right to the end and shows an error, unable to write data to disk, I really want to play. How do I fix this please.

      Coucou Cecilia, j’ai rencontré le même problème alors j’ai regardé la vidéo de la youtubeuse Simish qui explique comment changer la langue du jeu. En espérant avoir pu te donner un coup de main 🙂 !

    This is ridiculous, Sims 1 is literally just plug and play. What makes Sims 2 and Sims 3 so special? I can’t get either one to work! Sims 2 shows this blank popup with the title: Sims 2: Gardens and Mansions. and then it just closes on me.

    For everyone experiencing crashes after starting the game or after the intro video has been played, I have found a solution to this.

    Download the program Graphic Rules Maker: https://www.simsnetwork.com/tools/graphics-rules-maker

    1. Install Graphic Rules Maker
    2. If you select “Sims 2” after installation, the program should be able to locate the game and the correct corresponding path. If not, please locate the game manually via “Locate Game”
    3. Select “Auto Detect” at the bottom. Your graphic card’s settings should be selected automatically
    4. Toggle active the selections “Texture Memory estimate adjustments” and “Enable Drivers Memory Manager”
    5. Toggle off “Disable Sims Shadows”
    6. Click “Save Files”. Your graphic card should be detected automatically and you will be asked to confirm your graphic card.

    I have done the same process with Sims2 Body Shop but I am not sure if this had an impact on making the game working. In case of the Sims2 Body shop I have not altered any of the suggested options and I have only only clicked on “save files” in order to confirm my graphics card.

    Another step I have taken, which I am not sure of whether in contributes to make the game working is, that I have made an exception for the programming running under the Windows Defender.

    I have tested the Game on Windows 11 and it works with no troubles.

    so i had issues opening and keep getting: “failed to find any directx 9.0c”

    found a solution from: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=657087

    where it says:
    You can test if windowed mode helps by right-clicking the shortcut you use to start your game, choose “properties”, click the “shortcut” tab, and where it says “target”, add a space and -w after the quote mark. It should go directly to the startup EXE as a shortcut, so for instance the Sims2EP9.exe if you have the UC or M&G.
    (the game screen might look very tiny when you do this, but that’s a sign you need to fix GraphicRules).

    this has helped a lot for me to be able to play the game. sharing is caring.

    I followed the instructions, and even set Compatability to Windows Vista, Windows XP (both sets), but I keep getting the same error message. The error message doesn’t say anything, or the app crashes. I’m running on Windows 11, so I think it should be fine, but maybe I missed something.

    My gamer opens up quickly, goes through the intro and crashes, with no explanation, just says game has crashed and will now terminate. did i do something wrong?
