I downloaded and run the game well but i can’t fix the resolution issue. When I tried to change the Graphics Rules notes as it was recommended it keeps saying i need permission from the owner of the file

Hey go to your Graphics Rules file and right click on it. Go to security press the Add button in the filed type “everyone” then search names then press apply. That should do it

Hey! I had the same issues and i did a couple things to fix it so i’ll just tell you everything i did. I changed my display to run in 60 instead of 144. Right click on your windows home screen and press display settings find Advanced display settings and press it, press display adapter properties then press the tab that says monitor and change it to 60 Hertz. Restart your computer…..

(2)Ok then i went to Local Disk and pressed program files, then i searched for a file named Mr DJ in this file you find the sims 2 ultimate collection, press it, go to mansions and gardens (or whatever pops up when you load the sims) then find TSData then find Res then find Config, press Graphics Rules.sgr (If it says Graphics Rules.Sgr.Txt you have to go to properties and chage the name to Graphic Rules.Sgr ) Then where it says
      seti Low 1
      seti Medium 2
      seti High 3

      Change the 1,2,3 to 3,3,3
scroll towards the bottom till you find
      option ScreenModeResolution
      setting $Low
—–change the numbers acordingly( if your screen resoultion is 1920 x 1080 change the following lines to look like this)
      uintProp maxResWidth 1920
      uintProp maxResHeight 1080
      uintProp defaultResWidth 800
      uintProp defaultResHeight 600

      setting $MediumButDefaultLow
      uintProp maxResWidth 1920
      uintProp maxResHeight 1080
      uintProp defaultResWidth 800
      uintProp defaultResHeight 600

      setting $Medium
      uintProp maxResWidth 1920
      uintProp maxResHeight 1080
      uintProp defaultResWidth 1024
      uintProp defaultResHeight 768

      setting $High
      uintProp maxResWidth 1920
      uintProp maxResHeight 1080
      uintProp defaultResWidth 1024
      uintProp defaultResHeight 768
When your done save the file in the top left corner where it says file——-
ONLY IF—- it pops up a window asking where you want the file to be placed press cancel and go back to the location of Graphic Rules.Sgr and right click it and press properties, press securtiy, press edit, press Add… in the field type in “everyone”, press check names, press ok, press apply, then go back to the file and press save again, it should save without any pop ups, then close the files and open the sims 2, and go to settings and you should be able to change the resoultion!!!!!!! If not I’ll give you another meathod :))))))

      Use graphics rules maker.

If you still wanted to use the built in tutorial, go to C:/program files x86/Mr DJ

I downloaded this and Windows 10 on my MacBook via Parallels because I do not have an Intel processor and Bootcamp doesn’t run on my Mac. I know it’s supposed to have a black screen when you first run this game, but it’s only a black screen now and never shows anything. When I go home and hover over the game, I can see it and what it should look like, but when I click on it it’s just black. Thoughts? Help please!!

Luckily it installed really well. Windows 10, followed the install instructions. All I had to do was get SIM2RPC like julio estevez said because something was causing my game to crash, probably the resolution issue.

Also turning down the shadow wouldn’t help the black box issue when indoors, but from Reddit someone said to do “boolprop simshadows false” in the in game console and that fixed it. Rest of the game runs well so far.

Graphics rules maker may also help with shadow. You can also use “Sim Shadow Fix” mod BY Nopke at Mod The Sims. It will restore the real shadow to your game.

I personally have had a serious malware issue after downloading this and another game from this site. It wasn’t detected by common anti-virus programs, slowed my whole PC down and couldn’t be removed by a professional, so I had to let him set up Windows again. I’d issue some caution, at least on this site.

While installing and extracting, half way through an error comes up saying ‘Archive header is corrupt!’
Unarch.dll returned an error code: -14.
    Please help!

I’m trying to change the resolution but the Sims 2 Ultimate collection folder doesn’t have a ‘The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff’ folder in it? It doesn’t actually have any folders of the expansion packs. I’ve searched for it and its not showing up

In Downloads you should see an EA Games folder, hit that and Sims 2 Ultimate Collection should be inside. Then find Game Files.

Well, I think it depends on which one you downloaded if the EA Games folder doesnt have a Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff folder you have to go to program files and look for a file named Mr DJ then you should find Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff in there, from there follow Pixu on YT guide for chnaging resoultion

How long does the black screen take? It’s been several minutes and it’s just playing the intro song. I can see the miniature of the Garden intro screen when I leave the full screen, but when I enter full screen again its still all black
