To change the graphics rules maker text file I need developer permission. I also need permission to fix a bug that causes the game to crash randomly. The windows 10 update causes the video and free memory to drop significantly. I found resources for a fix but can’t apply them because I don’t have permission. A fix for this problem would be much appreciated. If anyone knows where I can ask for permission please tell.

I don’t know how to fix the problem. I got around the permission for the resolution fix by saving the text file elsewhere changing the name of the txt file I wanted to replace then copying the edited txt file (I could then choose yes for administrative privileges) maybe this could help with your fix. I have the same problem if you do sort it out.

Hi, when I try to play with some family or create my own, the game crashes at the loading screen and shows the message “application has crashed will now terminate”.
I can’t play the game, so I really need your help please! 🙂

Hi, I’m still having problems, when it comes to running the application as an administrator, it’s still asking me for the disk to be put into the computer before running? Any solutions?

Ok guys please help. I can’t change the resolution from 800×600 to somethingX1080. There’s no such thing as “resolution change.txt” in my “game files” folder. And I guess I don’t even have the “game files” folder. I’ve looked everywhere it’s nowhere to be found. Please help! 🙁

Hi! I have kinda same problem, except that i have the resolutin fix.txt – it says that “Open ‘The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff’ folder present in.. (the folder where the sims2 is)” to continue the resolution fix, but there’s no such folder.

I have the same problem. Have gone through every folder, but can’t find it. Really appreciate if somebody finds a solution on this!

I figured it out! You will find the folder in “Program files x86” –> “Mr DJ” –> “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection” –> “Mansion and Garden Stuff” (I attached a screenshot. It is in norwegian, but you can at least see what it looks like). From there you just follow the instructions. You will have to drag the text file out to your desktop to edit it and then put it back to the same folder. And now you can change the resolution! Serious Question: I already have an EA Games folder in my documents, but from having Sims 4 installed, not Sims 2. This should theoretically not be a problem, right?
I mean I could move it to my external hard drive for the time of the installation, but that seems like an unnecessary hassle.

I just downloaded and I’m missing the main 3 towns as well as downtown from night life. How can I fix this?

I am having a problem with the resolution fix.
The mansion and garden stuff I am seeing is a package file, not a folder so I cant open it. It’s not exactly a HUGE problem. I could still play, but I’ll take any help I can get.

This game has been working perfectly for about a week, but now I can’t play as every time I open the game it says I have custom content (which I don’t) and one of the files is objects.package and one is something else. When I either disable or enable it the game terminates. Can anyone help me?

i stared to install it by pressing “setup.exe” and it said “an error occurred while unpacking: archive corrupted! Unarc.dll returned an error code: -7 ERROR: achieve data corrupted (decompression fails)” can someone help me ?

I had the same error because my download was corrupted. Try downloading it again, without pauses or stops so you can be sure all parts are fully downloaded.

Hello! The game works perfectly fine for me but I am trying to install CCs in it. The “normal” way of doing it like it is said in tutorials on the internet won’t work for me. Does anyone knows where I should put my downloaded CCs in my folder so it would work?
For example, I downloaded them, extracted them, then put them in a “Downloads” file in the “The Sims 2” (also tried “The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff” since it is were the actual program is actually installed) folder like it is said, but none of the CCs will appear even if I allowed The cc content in the game parameters.

Also, some of you had your game in a “EA” folder when you downloaded it, but for me, when I try to move my files in the EA Game folder, the game won’t work anymore, I don’t know if that changes anything if it is in the EA file or not, but just to make sure, i’ll tell you this. uhu. Thanks a lot to those that may help me!

Thanks for this great download, I have not been able to get the screen resolution to full screen by following the instructions. Is there anything else that may work?
