    Hi, every time I go to open my game it appears with just a blank message and does not open the game. Ive installed the graphics rule maker and it did not fix it. Anyone know a fix? Thanks 🙂

    Has anybody been able to download this but on linux? If so how? And any changes to the downloading and installing process? And where certain files and folders are located. Please put a detailed description of exactly what you did to get this on linux <3

      Hi! I got it to work with PlayOnLinux, you could use Lutris or just plain wine but I find this the easiest:

      – install wine and PlayOnLinux if you don’t have it already
      – download this patch for wine: https://freesoft.dev/program/158024575 (I had to extract it in “~/.PlayOnLinux/wine/linux-x86”)
      – in PlayOnLinux click Install, a window will pop up. click “Install non-listed program” in the bottom left corner, select “Install a new program…”, “Select another version of wine” and pick the version of wine that we just added. select the TS2 installer file, the installer should launch now
      – iirc it asked me to install DirectX, but if it doesn’t you can install it manually: in PlayOnLinux go to “Configure” > select the drive where you installed TS2 > “Miscellaneous” tab > “Run a .exe in this virtual drive” > select the DirectX installer from the TS2 archive, in the “Redist” folder
      – create a shortcut from “Sims2Launcher.exe” – the other .exes asked me to insert a CD
      – run the game. it might take a while to start, I think it took a few minutes the first time, you just gotta be patient
      – if you have broken family thumbnails there’s a link to a patch here: https://software.kaminata.net/linux-wine-games/the-sims-2-ultimate-collection-linux-wine/ (just put the .package file in “~/.EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads”. this article also has instructions on installing the game with plain wine, if you wanna do that)

    Instead of downloading as a file, its a rar document. i feel like that was intentional but idk how to extract it from that point on

    hey is the file specifically named “EA GAMES” and not “ELECTRONIC ARTS” because it could interfere with my sims 3 game on steam

      its called ea games since the sims 2 was from ea games. later ea games switched to ea, yes that means electronic arts. so do not change the ea games folder name

    I have an “Electronic Arts” folder in documents with both my Sims 3 & 4 saves. Will this affect my downloading process even though it’s not the same as the “EA Games” folder?

    hello! the game runs smoothly up till i get the menu to choose my neighbourhood, it crashes after i choose and proceed to the loading screen. “Application has crashed, application will now terminate.” I have both graphics rules maker and 4gb patch installed, i have deleted cache, i run in windowed mode, and i have tried without mods/cc. Can somebody help? 🙁

    Hi! Game runs fine apart from when I try and move my sim into an apartment- if I place furniture in before moving the sim in, it all disappears, and once moved in it won’t let me place any furniture when playing on the family either! Says “location out of bounds”. Help please?

    Hello! The game is running well, but I doesn’t save
    I tried to uncheck “read only” mode for the folder, it just automatically changes to it back again

    the installation notes say that a few packs like the ikea one arent included here, does anyone have a full list of which ones arent in the file aside from that one?

    hi! i downloaded everything, but when i run the game as administrator it stops at the mansions and garden loading screen. it gets to about halfway and then freezes. is there anything i can do to fix this?
