I got a message when I am extracting the files. Setup-1.bin is corrupt, and I can’t install the game. What should I do? Or what’s the problem..

I have it downloaded step by step but keeps crashing when I try to start it. I don’t understand what I did wrong or what’s going on with my PC.

did you read the instruction in the original downloaded folder? it says how to change it via register editor (type it in the search field via start). if you can’t find the right folder there (i had the same problem) look under:

      Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\1.0

Then, on the right, change the language (double click) to the number of the language you want to use.
      0 English
      1 English
      2 French
      3 German
      4 Italian
      5 Spanish
      6 Swedish
      7 Finnish
      8 Dutch
      9 Danish
      10 Russian
      11 Simplified Chinese
      12 Traditional Chinese
      13 … (appears corrupted)
      14 Polish
      15 Thai
      16 Norsk (Norwegian)
      17 Portuguese
      18 Hungarian

      a Portuguese
      b Czech
      c Hebrew
      d Greek
      e Japanese
      f Korean

Then change the language name to the chosen language as well.
Do this with all the expansions and it should work! Good luck!

There is. I think you’re opening the folder you downloaded from this site, and not the folder where the actual game was installed. Search for the folder where the game is -installed-. For me that was in:

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Mr DJ\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection

Then there is the folder you’re looking for. Hope this helps. Good luck!

doesn’t work whatsoever. Windows 11 and DirectX12. won’t allow me to download the redist file bc i have DirectX12 as I have a newer version. useless and pointless to have when The Sims 1 works perfectly fine.

How do I switch expansions? I’ve never played Sims 2 before, but everything downloaded good and is working fairly well. It just keeps saying mansion and garden stuff, but I downloaded the Sims 2 ultimate collection, which should have all packs. Also, there’s like screen glitches. I’ve tried to switch the graphics to high, low and medium, but still glitches. How do I fix that?

You can check if got content from different packs by turning on the game and use the character creator. Go in on the clothes section and look and the different clothes your sim can use. In the pictures of the clothings upper left corner you should see a little marking of different looking plumbobs (the crystal above sim’s heads). The plumbob will look different depending on which pack the clothing comes from. You can also go to buy-mode and see if different buy objects pictures have plumbobs in their upper left corner.

Is the screen glitch black squares under your sims? If so, it’s a glitch coming from the shading. Switch the shading from high to medium and it should be fixed. You can keep the graphics however low or high you like.
      Good luck!

For the glitching problem I downloaded a d3d9.dll and 4GB patch, which was useful. The d3d9.dll must be placed in TSBin (mine is Mr. DJ > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff > TSBin ). If it dosen’t solve it, download and open the 4GB Patch and you should choose a file. I choose Sims2EP9 (Mr. DJ > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff > TSBin > Sims2EP9 ). If you don’t know how to download it, you can search on Youtube too.

On the menu clight the right button until you see a logo with a house and a plus, then click the logo and you will have a list of other neighborhoods which dont have any buildings. I hope this would be helpful

I’ve download the file, followed the instruction ( including deleting the EA Games folder ) and run the game. The problem is when I saved the game by clicking the floppy disk icon, it did said saving lots and I quitted the game as usual. However, when I opened the game again, all my houses were gone. What should I do to fix this problem?

I already installed everything on a external hard drive a while a go but now it says the shortcut on my desktop to get to the game doesn’t exist. Where is the game application located or do I need to reinstall? and if so do I have to get rid of all of my mods
