Cabela's 4x4 Off-Road Adventure provides a virtual simulation of off-road driving using modified, big-tire trucks. Ranging from high-riding pickup trucks to sports utility vehicles, 18 ready-to-roar machines are available for racing in six diverse environments. More than a dozen interchangeable parts, including items such as skid plates, searchlights, and bumper guards, are available for customizing and upgrading your wilderness beast.
Real world nuisances like cracked radiators, electrical breakdowns, snapped axles, and more await the intrepid explorer as he or she traverses bayous, woods, mountains, a dry riverbed, Baja dunes and mountain terrain -- there's even a secret level to be unlocked. Gameplay incorporates managing disastrous situations when they occur and trying to avoid them altogether.
Environments are supported by 3D acceleration, though it's not required. Multiple camera angles allow you to view the action from nearly any perspective and a wide array of level combinations reward driver efficiency and nerves. Six modes of play include skill, navigation, exploration, discovery, endurance, and freedom.
