The "Nitro Edition" of Canopy Games' Midnight Outlaw: Illegal Street Drag contains a few enhancements to the original title from 2002. The objectives remain the same: earn money by wagering on illegal street drag races, upgrade your engine, out-maneuver the police, build a reputation, and gain respect from your fellow dragsters. As in the original, players can customize the cars with custom paint and sound systems, and win races by using nitrous oxide boosts near the finish line.
Midnight Outlaw: Illegal Street Drag -- Nitro Edition offers ten supercharged cars, risky daytime racing in addition to the normal nighttime matches, and four new venues. As with the first game, players can select "Test Drive" to check out a car's performance, "Hit the Streets" to challenge other racers, or multiplayer action via a LAN or the Internet (optional install available for GameSpy Arcade). Status is tracked by money, respect points, current race class (A through D), best times, win and lost record, and the cost of each race.
