This 2005 edition of Squad Assault offers nearly 60 historical and hypothetical missions set in the later days of World War II, allowing players to take command of both German and Allied forces on the Western Front. Soldiers of the American, British, Canadian, French, and German military commence in fierce firefights through detailed, destructible terrain. Battle progresses in a real-time flow, but may be paused at any point to allow sophisticated tactics and coordinated attacks. The game also comes with a scenario editor, and tools designed to make it easy to import new mods.
