About Super Baseball

Super Baseball lets you play nine innings of America's favorite pastime against either a friend or the computer. A single screen shows the entire diamond and outfield from a view high above the pitcher's mound. While batting primarily involves pressing the fire button as the pitch crosses the plate, you can also influence the direction of a hit by pushing the joystick in one of five positions.

Runners can be told to steal or return to each base by manipulating the joystick before hitting, and pitching involves choosing one of six pitches with the joystick: fastball, riser, sinker, curve left, curve right or an intentional ball. Pressing the fire button after selecting a pitch will carry out the throw.

Once contact is made, the fielder closest to the ball will become activated. Guide your fielder to the ball and aim your throw using the joystick. Press the fire button to release the ball, but make sure the throw is toward the base or it could sail away! The object of the game, of course, is to have the most runs at the end of nine innings (ties will go into extra innings, however).

Super Baseball is almost identical to Atari's earlier RealSports Baseball but contains a new title screen, some bug-fixes and cleaner graphics.
