The third installment in the Test Drive Off-Road line promises to bring state-of-the-art graphics, a brand-new physics engine, and more to the Test Drive spin-off series.
The only computer game to boast an official license from AM General's Hummer, the game also includes a host of other officially licensed vehicles, such as the Ford F150, the Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee, the Subaru Outback, and the Dodge Ram. Scenic tracks allow you to race over mountains, through forests, across streams, and through other inhospitable terrain in such diverse locales as the Canadian Rockies, Yosemite Park, and Mount Fuji.
Test Drive Off-Road 3 offers both arcade and tournament play, the latter of which allows you to upgrade your vehicles with money won through competitive races. The player can tinker with the engine, shocks and tires, brakes, and more.
Modern rock fans will appreciate the soundtrack, which features cuts from such mainstays as Boys Against Girls, Blink 182 and Incubus.
