   Works fine after the 4gb-patch and resolution patch, but i have black rectangles under each sim and animal when awake and walking around. Runs smoothly otherwise

   Hi. My name is Lizzy, and I have Windows 10 desktop. I did what it said for installation, but here’s the thing. I launched it and all I see is the symbol showing that the game is open, and I can hear music from it, but it’s showing my pc monitor instead of the game. Please, help. I can’t even close the game unless I force my desktop to shut off.

     ok, after 3 attempt, I can charging the game after the intro, but he crash just when the chargement of the stuff gaming are processed. I haved tried to play without internet, firewall and i haved take off my second screen, but that don’t run..

   I’m having a hard time stabilizing the game. It crashes often despite running in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2) up to Windows Vista (Service Pack 2). The most frequent crash is purchasing clothes or shortly after major load screens like traveling or going between Build/Buy. Any recommendations?

    when i try to install this again i have enough space now but now it wont install it because it keeps saying “Setup needs the next disk, please specify the location of the next disk.” when i try to put it in a folder to install it it like glitches the screen and the bottom it says “please insert disc 1 with Setup-1.bin”

    If you’re getting crashes, make sure you use a 4GB/LAA patch on the Sims2EP9.exe file. x86 applications can only use a maximum of 2GB of memory, which will cause this game to crash as it requires more than that on most systems.

    I’m getting a “failed to find any Directx 9.0c compatible graphics in this system…” error code every time I try to run. I try to download the file in the Redist folder and it says I have a newer version already installed. Any workaround for this?

      Same issue, and it previously worked on the same install. If you’re on Windows 11 like I am I suspect a Windows update broke this game (as they often do for games of this era). Sometimes I get a CTD with a blank error pop up as well. Running as administrator and in compatibility mode doesn’t help.
