   Hi, at first i want to say thanks, the game it’s running almost perfectily, but when i get into a lote everything it’s white but my sims, how can i fix it ?

   for anyone with 95% component tranfer error problem during installation, you need to change the window system language, which means not just windows language as english but also need to change from CONTROL PANEL-> underneath clock and region click CHANGE DATE TIME OR NUMBER OF FORMATS, then format choose ENGLISH, apply then press ok

   does not work i intsall it and it installs fine but when ever i try to replace the files it just says drag to create link and not letting me replace it and it also has no logo what did i do wrong

   If you followed the instructions exactly, had to delete it for whatever reason, and it gives you the “Catastrophic Failure” error message, go download Revo Uninstaller, it is so easy to use, I couldn’t believe it. Delete all your Sims 1 files. You don’t need any of them if you’re going to redownload it anyway. If you have Windows 10, try this video. The files extracted and worked just fine for me, so it shouldn’t be anything wrong with the download files itself.

     yeah me too, im installing the sims one for my dad on his old laptop, i cant get rid of it, it usually runs fine after i go into the folder called eraser, which basically means it gets rid of errors preventing the installation, i hope it works for you tho

    Windows 10 OS here. Followed the instructions. By the time I reached step 4, a FB icon with EA comes up. The button doesn’t work so the only thing to do was close it and exit the installation which the installation then says it is complete. After doing step 5 I still have issues where I get a black screen and the game closes on me. My setup.exe also acts as an uninstall file instead.

    I have been trying to uninstall it as I fucked up the installation-
    I erased all the files inside of it but the install windowsshield was refusing to let me erase the actual program. What do I do?

    I’ve tried installing this a number of times. The first time I tried doing this I messed up a step so I’ve been deleting and redownloading this to try again and every time it always says “Catastrophic Failure” because a support file couldn’t be installed.

    Have I completely screwed myself from getting this to work or is there some way to fix it? I already tried the eraser and that didn’t help. Please answer asap.

      Same- the same thing happened to me and I have been stuck trying to get the file out, but the window’s installshield keeps saying its a failure.

        go to your program files 86 folders and make sure you have hidden files shown and delete installshield folder

    I have downloaded, and extracted the Sims 1 folder onto my desktop, somehow. Whenever i try to install it. No matter what compatibility, with or without administrative rights! The installer always shuts down on its own! The message after “InstallShield (R) Setup Engine has stopped working” Becomes [An error occurred while launching the setup. The remote procedure call failed.] Please , help me fix this install shield error that has been plaguing the game every download i try. And god bless you for bringing this tutorial back!

    I have a question, is this the complete version of sims 1? I have downloaded sims from other source and is only 139 mb while this is 2gb
