   I’ve got the game installed on my external D drive. I put the start file in the folder with everything else (directx etc.) and then I launch. Gives me the pre launch user interface. Then I click play and nothing launches. Anyone else have this issue?

     open the the file called “The Sims Crack” and drag & drop the “Sims.exe” (SO NOT START.exe!!)

   im clicking the start.exe file and its not working and i dont know what to do im going to try redownloading it from the archive itself to see if that works

     Go into the folder called SETUP and click in the setup.exe

   I get the entire thing downloaded and when I go to start as an administrator, it says “Could not find The Sims data directory.” Help!! 🙁

   I actually managed to get it all the way up to the map screen, but it immediately freezes or drops to 1 frame per ten seconds (for the river water animations), and becomes unresponsive. The first time I tried there was nothing on any of the lots. The second time the building appeared but a dialogue box appeared with no way to click out of it, and the game was basically frozen at that point. Both times I had to shut down the program with task manager.

   Also I think, step six meant to say
   “Right click on the start.exe file and select create a desktop shortcut”

   Can’t start the process to even get the game set up as it doesn’t even allow me to open the start application to enter the serial code. Deleted and reinstalled and gone through the process multiple times trying different things. But I can’t even follow the instructions in the first place because the start application doesn’t even open.

   I want to download but mega want membership for a year from me. for a mounth is okey but there is no sense to pay over a year for the sims. Could you help me about that?

    before I delete all the files I want to see if someone can help me. when I try to drop the sim file from “the sim crack” into the maxis file I get a message that says “Windos can’t create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?” what do I do?!

    Im stuck on the “replacing the crack file” I paste it into the directory where I installed the game and it doesn’t replace it, it just creates a shortcut in the folder? ( I didn’t create a shortcut I simply dragged the sims.exe file into the installed directory) if I click on the newly created thing it says ” could not find the sims data directory ” help appreciated 🙂

      Hello! Have you tried using the old but reliable “copy” and “paste” instead of dragging the file? This is what I did and I was able to successfully replace the old file with the crack file. Hopefully this can help!

      Go to the Sims folder and just delete it. Then run CCleaner.
