The issue i am having is the Ikea stuff pack doesn’t show up in game despite it installing.
the post mentions that ikea stuff pack is missing that’s not a glitch
Hi, while installing the game it gets to 95.6% and then gets the error message – An error occurred while unpacking: Unable to read data! Unarc.dll returned an error code: -6 ERROR: file read operation failed.
I tried reinstalling several times and it gets the same message. I thought maybe it would be lack of disk space in which cleared up some space but no help.
Do anyone know the solution to this problem?

I just went through hours of gameplay only to leave and come back to an unsaved game lol. I saved it plenty of times why wasn’t my game saved??
so i have no problem running the game. i’ve installed everything correctly. the only thing is that it has EXTREMELY slow loading menus. it’s taken more than 5 minutes to even get past the starting screen. is there a way to fix this? i have yet been able to actually play the game since it takes forever to load a map i chose one.

I wanted to know what is the best option to install The Sims 2. Thank you!
Get ‘uTorrent’ and click ‘Torrent (magnet) Link 1’ – torrents are much quicker (mine took 2 hours, rather than the Mediafire download, that was going to take 6hrs+).
Also, if something goes down (Internet connection lost, power cut, etc) a torrent will continue where it left off, whereas a download will have to start all over again!
I used MediaFire (it’s most commonly used), but either are fine, really.
This game runs fine, but I’d recommend downlooading “Graphics Rules Maker” to ensure you get the proper resolution. Like others have pointed out, yes the IKEA pack is missing but that’s it. Everything else runs perfectly fine on Windows 10! 🙂
What can I do if my screenshots appear in my folder as .xml archive? (When the desired is .jpg or .png) How can I change it? Or do I need another program to view them?
I would suggest just using something like Gadwin (here: https://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or some other screenshot software because screenshots taken with the “C” key are very low quality. I’m not sure what the .xml issue could be, though.
I’ve noticed that a lot of you seem to be having issues with your installations, I managed to install everything perfectly and fixed the resolutions for the game. If anyone would like help with their installations please let me know — it’s a bit tricky but it’s so worth it, please let me know and I’d love to help a fellow retrogamer out 🙂
Can you help me? After it downloaded and I opened it through winrar, a message came up saying “Corrupt Header is found.”
But , I exit out of that and I just kept going and then while it’s extracting it says date error (cyclic redundancy) and read error in file . I hit retry and so far nothing.
I guess I’m going to try another download or something.

I have followed all the steps exactly and when I right click and run as administrator it loads for a few seconds then says mansions and gardens has crashed and it closes the program, any suggestions?
