Game Description

The Sims (also known as The Sims 1 or The Sims Classic) is a life-simulation video game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts on February 4, 2000 for Windows, and July 25, 2000 for Mac OS X. The game only has a single-player mode. There is no goal defined in The Sims, and players must develop their characters as they go through different life stages. Characters which the player controls can interact with other in-game characters, develop relationships (both negative and positive) and can even start families together. Characters can also be assigned certain tasks to develop life skills, which enables them to progress in their careers and increase their salaries.

I followed the instructions. The game ran smoothly. I proceeded through the tutorial. I had two sims in the house. I instructed the female sim to turn off the radio in the kitchen. The game crashed. It crashed very smoothly. The game window simply vanished in a split second.
I experienced a similar issue while playing sim city 4 from an official disc my step father lent to me… The sim city 4 game window would simply disappear randomly as a “crash”. All game progress was lost if i had not “saved my game”.
I use a Toshiba laptop running windows vista 32-bit.

I followed the instructions and I run the game as administrator. It sometimes works but usually there are major graphics issues, like houses not showing up or no item pictures. When I run it, not as administrator, it works fine but you can not save. I want to try uninstalling and reinstalling, but it won’t let me uninstall it. Any suggestions, please?

I just installed the game. It ran smoothly. No problems at all. Just a small problem and that is I couldn’t find the other games. It says Expansion pack but only ‘The Sims 2’ is running as for now. Could you please help me out in this issue?

Installed following the instructions exactly. Got into the game, and the windows for unleashed, superstar, etc. kept downloading over and over again on a loop and i never got to the neighborhood. Closed the program and reopened, except this time there was no default neighborhood and it was asking for a disc. Closed and reopened one more time, and the first problem happened again. Guess it was worth a shot.

installed following the directions exactly. Once I got into the game, the windows for unleashed, superstar, etc. kept downloading over and over and I could never get to the neighborhood to play. It was like it was stuck in a loop. I got out of the program, and reopened. Then it was asking for a disc. Then I closed and reopened, and the first problem started happening again. Nope.

Can anyone help. I’ve followed the guide up until I click on the start ‘application’. It then says “Autoplay will only run from The Sims installation CD. Exiting now.”
Does anyone know why I’m getting this and a way around it?

Hi, I’ve reach the point where i’ve replaced it with the “Sims Crack”, but now this pops up “please insert disc 1 of the sims making magic into the CD-ROM drive and click ok”. Not sure what to do here as i don’t remember having this before? thanks

Errors saving my game play. Then when I tried to play again, it got to the world then just disappeared. Uniinstalled. Was nice to play the Newbie’s for a little bit though.

So far so good! I followed every instruction and installation was a breeze. I’ve played the game for about 20 minutes so far and I’ve had no issues with it. I’ll keep you updated if I do come across any bugs though. Thank you so much for putting The Sims up here 🙂
