About Need For Speed: Most Wanted

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a 2005 racing video game, and the ninth installment in the Need for Speed series following Underground 2. Developed and published by Electronic Arts (EA), it was released in November 2005 for GameCube, PlayStation 2, Windows, Xbox, and Xbox 360 alongside two distinct versions for Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. Another version for PlayStation Portable titled Need for Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0, was released at the same time and featured alternative gameplay.

Most Wanted focuses on street racing-oriented gameplay involving a selection of events and racing circuits found within the fictional city of Rockport. The game's main story involving players taking on the role of a street racer who must compete against 15 of the city's most elite street racers to become the "Most Wanted" racer in Rockport City. In the process, they will seek revenge against Clarence "Razor" Callahan, one of the group who took their BMW M3 GTR (E46) car, and develop a feud with the city's police department led by police sergeant Jonathan Cross. The game brought in many notable improvements and additions over other entries in the series, its major highlight being more in-depth police pursuits. Certain editions of the game were packaged with the ability for online multiplayer gaming.

Most Wanted takes place in the fictional city of Rockport, which consists of three major districts: Rosewood, Camden Beach and Downtown Rockport. The city consists of areas featuring grimy industrial complexes, affluent suburbs, mountainous and wooded surroundings, a university campus, and a downtown core, with a mixture of road networks ranging from coastal roads to major highways. The setting is heavily influenced by cities from across the United States' "Rust Belt" and Pacific Northwest, with some resemblances to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. Much of the game's events and story take place in a fixed time period between sunrise and sunset, compared to the previous title's races that took place at night.

In Rockport City, the Rockport Police Department (RPD) work to put an end to the illegal street racing scene. A task force of traffic officers led by police sergeant Jonathan Cross (played by Dean McKenzie) works to take down any street racers, most prominently including a group known as the "Blacklist" – the fifteen "Most Wanted" racers who have gained notoriety for their racing skill and their frequent and hazardous illegal driving and capture bounty.

The protagonist, an unnamed street racer, arrives at Rockport with a custom painted blue and silver BMW M3 GTR (E46) to face the Blacklist and meets fellow street racer Mia Townsend (played by Josie Maran) who is driving in a red Mazda RX-8 SE3P in the southern bridge towards Camden Beach. The player races her until Rockport, where she inexplicably leaves as Cross, who is driving a black and white Chevrolet Corvette C6, approaches the player along with his female partner, and narrowly avoids arrest after Cross is called to an ongoing pursuit.

How’s the weather down there in the Southern Philippians? Let me know how Mika Antoinette Villamor is doing.

I’m pretty sure that when trying to launch this game (not the setup) there is an error. I will tell you some methods of how to fix this error. Also, if it seems like I’m trying to spam this, I’m not, I’m just trying to make sure everyone sees this. Ok so, I assume most of you all are getting the error “The program can’t start because d3dx9_26.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.” So, what this error means is that you are missing a DLL file that is from the DirectX driver from Microsoft, which is a very old graphics driver which can also allow you to run 3D accelerated games from the 90s to early 2000s. In order to make the error be gone, you will need to download the .DLL file from somewhere on the internet, I already found one that also explains how you could fix the error in different methods, here is the website: https://www.dll-files.com/d3dx9_26.dll.html

Oh, and btw, I did scan the .DLL file with VirusTotal, and it seems to be all clean. So you will have to download the .DLL file with your architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) Once you have done that, you will need to go inside the compressed folder or .ZIP folder/file and delete the readme.txt file, or unless you wanna read it but when you’re finished reading it, delete the readme.txt file and then extract the folder into C:Windowssystem and make sure that you extracted it in “system” NOT “system32” Once you have done that, you fixed the error. Well, probably not. Because even if you open the application, you no longer get the old error, you get another one. This is probably because you need to install the whole DirectX driver, which I do not recommend doing for people who do not know anything about installing drivers or DirectX. DirectX is meant for machines running Windows 95-XP, I already tried it on Windows 7 and it didn’t work sadly. I recommend instead of just installing this driver on actual hardware, get a computer running Windows 95-XP or just make a virtual machine and download DirectX for that virtual machine. This is pretty much the only advice I can give, but take in mind I am not responsible for anything that happens to your computer as a result of following this advice, its nothing risky unless you don’t have a lot of knowledge for computers.
Another thing you can try doing is just reinstall the .dll file which might fix the error, idk though as I have not tried that but I might test it. I will edit this comment if I get more information on how to fix this error.
