Forcing you to adapt to your environments and develop stealth techniques, Spec Ops: Rangers Lead the Way puts you in control of two rangers who are assigned various mission in different parts of the world. Five multi-staged missions include blowing up SCUD bases in North Korea, rescuing hostages in Afghanistan, and taking down any enemies you encounter. Thinking through missions is key, since blasting your guns and throwing grenades wildly will get you nowhere.

Through the use of a compass, a variety of terrain can be explored including snowy mountains, rolling hills, jungles, and enemy bases. Other weapons and items include binoculars, rifle scopes, night vision goggles, SATCOM Radio, rocket launchers, machine guns, sniper rifes and explosives. Three levels of difficulty include "Private," "Corporal," and "Sergeant."
