Warcraft: Orcs & Humans is a real-time strategy video game (RTS) developed by Blizzard Entertainment and initially published by Interplay Entertainment in November 1994 for MS-DOS. The Macintosh version was released later in 1996. The game is the first commercial success for Blizzard Entertainment and was enthusiastically received by critic, winning several awards in the year follows its release. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans takes place in an imaginary world of medieval-fantasy created by Blizzard Entertainment and inspired by games such as Warhammer, Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings. The story traces the invasion of the human kingdom of Azeroth by orcs from the planet of Draenor (Outland).
