About Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (sometimes known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States) is an action-adventure video game with platform elements published by Electronic Arts. It is based on J.K Rowling's novel of the same name and the film adaptation. Philosopher's Stone was initially developed for the Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation in November 2001, and was re-made two years later for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in December 2003.

    So I’m back for my 4th redownload in the last decade and I’ve always loved replaying. I’m having some weird issues this time however, I’ve followed all of the instructions to a T (and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times). The game menu loads and then I can select a save game and Harry appears, but the environment is complete darkness and I just seem to be running around in it. I really wanna get back to playing it, but I can’t seem to get it to render the environment! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I think it’s been over 20 years since I last played this game. Its so special to me. Thank you so much for providing this game. I feel so nostalgic. At first I was skeptical whether it will work or not. It didn’t work the first time, then I downloaded the win 10 fix and replaced the files as instructed. It’s hanging a lot though, animation works okay, but whenever I am using the spell, it’s getting very slow. Other than that, all good. I am so happy. Thank you again!

    If you wanna play the game in the language they offer. After you install the game, download the win 10 fix and just drop the .exe from the system folder into you original install. To more changes as resolution and such, I followed a video from JokerAlex21’s fix video on youtube as Pytor’s comment say below. Love this pages!

    The second windows link worked for me on Windows11. I followed JokerAlex21’s fix video on youtube too. Had to download the Widescreen mods he mentions as after editing the game files to 1920×1080 resolution everything was super stretched.
