About Inherent Evil: The Haunted Hotel

Your parents were brutally murdered (or were they?) 20 years ago in the hotel they owned -- the Reed Hotel. Fortunately, you and your brother escaped the clutches of the murderer but now your brother has returned to the hotel with designs on restoring and re-opening it. As fate would have it, though, he suddenly turns up missing, leaving it up to you to investigate his strange disappearance.

You'll need to scour every nook and cranny of the old hotel and search for clues not only related to your brother's disappearance but the unsolved mystery surrounding your parents untimely demise as well. Featuring photo-realistic 3D graphics and eight horrifying levels, Inherent Evil: The Haunted Hotel takes you on a squeamish adventure, filled with horror and ghastly surprises, as well as multiple endings based on your level of success or failure.

The game is played from a first-person perspective as you take the role of Kyle Reed and utilizes a "smart" cursor. Movement is handled through the appearance of green directional areas on-screen that you click on with the mouse. Interaction with the environment is carried out through use of various icons that appear as the cursor passes over "hot spots" or selected objects, similar in practice to those of The 7th Guest or The 11th Hour.

Puzzles and deadly traps abound in the hotel. Should you be killed by one of these traps while exploring, you'll be whisked away to a graveyard with 12 headstones. These headstones are randomized each time you die and clicking on any one of them results in two possible actions. The first is removal from the game, at which time you'll need to restart at the beginning of the level and the second returns you to the scene of your death, giving you a second chance. The kicker, here, is that only two of the dozen headstones allow you to continue while the other ten leave you with no option but to restart the level from the beginning.

Ready for a ghastly ghost tale? Then come on in to the Reed Hotel and help Kyle search for answers!
