Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron – Forever Free is a 2002 computer game. After rustlers capture Spirit's herd, the horses are sold one by one until only Spirit and an old gray horse remain.

I’ve tried the fixes with changing the compatibilities from Windows 95 all the way up to Windows 8. Reducing the color mode to 16-bit as well. Tried all combinations of modes (in “Best” graphics because of reason below).
Any time I tried to change the graphics in game from “Best” to “Better” or even to “Good” the game doesn’t want to start up anymore. It will either not do anything, or flash a few things and never open up the game.
I’ve even tried downloading from multiple sources and doing all the same things above. Please help. I’d love to rerun my beloved childhood game, but if nothing else works I’ll just have to settle with watching a playthrough of it. 🙁
