    How to play in Windows

    1. Download Zoo_Tycoon_Win_ROM_EN.zip and extract the files to your desktop. You might need to use a software such as 7-zip or WinRar to extract.
    2. After that, you want to mount the 2 ROM files found inside the downloaded folder, to do this you will need to use a software such as Daemon Tools.
    3. When you have them mounted, run the setup found inside the mounted drive for the base game (not expansion) and finish installing the game. After, run the setup for the expansion and install it.
    4. Finally, you want to open the crack folder and copy-paste the files found inside into the game installation directory (right click on game desktop shortcut and select "open file location" to see installation directory). Confirm you want to overwrite those files. Now you can run the game.
    5. Enjoy!

    I have tried everything. PLEASE HELP. I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but still when I try to launch it just shuts down. It never even loads a start menu. Can someone please save me?

    I followed all the instructions and when i try to run the game, the icon pops up but then it shuts down. I can’t even make it to the menu. Any idea what could be wrong?

    Update: I had to change the properties of the .exe file to run on compatibility mode. It works now!

      Can you explain better about where you went to change which file into compatibility mode, please!

        I was also having the same issue but was not sure what to do so I right clicked the icon on the desktop and hit troubleshoot compatibility and then hit test the program and I am able to play it that way.

    What version of Daemon Tools do I need to download? Can anyone tell? Download links would be even better , but if not just tell me the version and type. There are many and I don’t know which one I should download/is best.

    I’m running into the same maintenance worker glitch, where they won’t take out the trash. I’m kind of computer-stupid so I don’t really know what “just mount the discs and install the game, and then put the crack file into the game’s installation directory” entails. How can i find the installation directory? Which crack file?

    Hi! I downloaded and did everything correctly (At least I think I did), and my game crashes on startup. As in, I can see the starting animations and then the loading screen but a second after the loading screen pops up, the game crashes. Any help?

    Hi I downloaded this the other day and i have played it twice and everything was fine. Now it comes up with an error saying i need the disc, if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

    I downloaded and followed instructions etc and the game works perfectly EXCEPT for some reason the maintenance workers won’t do anything and there isn’t a green assignment arrow for them, wondering if it’s a glitch and fixable? 🙁

    I would like to play it so much, but…. when I try the game run – nothing . I completed every part of installation (mount the ROM files, install it, cracked,…), but I still can´t play 🙁 I used the ROM_EN.zip version. Please, what can I do with it?

    Thanks so much for adding this on here, I can finally relive my childhood favorite 😀
    I just wanted to ask whether this is really the full pack or not, I followed all the steps in the “tutorial” and I can play the game, but there is no dolphins and dinosaurs (and all the cool stuff basically). So is there any way of getting those in there too?

    Thank you for providing this! I have the game disk, but can’t use it due to the drive on my computer being broken. I initially used the Preinstalled_EN.zip provided and the game worked fine. The only issue was that the maintenance workers wouldn’t clean or fix fences (as others have pointed out). So, I used the ROM_EN.zip file installation method. That took a bit longer, but it was worth it! The game works perfectly. For those unsure of how to mount disks, simply download and install Daemon Tools (you can easily find it through google) and click to open the .BIN files found in the Expansion and Base Game folders that are extracted through the ROM_EN.zip. That’s all! You can then install the game, add the zoo files in the Crack folder and done! Enjoy!
