About Axis & Allies

Axis & Allies is a real-time strategy World War II video game developed by TimeGate Studios and published by Atari for Microsoft Windows. The game was released on November 2, 2004. It is based on the board game series Axis & Allies from Milton Bradley and also on TimeGate's Kohan series. Set in the years after Japan and the United States entered into the war, the game allows the player to act as a World War II commander to build military forces to fight against other generals, using military units and technologies from the war. The player is able to alter the history of World War II.

    How to play on Windows

    1. Download the "Axis_and_Allies_2004_Preinstalled_Win_EN.zip" file from the link above.
    2. Open the downloaded .zip file and extract the "Axis_and_Allies_2004_Preinstalled_Win_EN" folder to your desktop. You will need to use a software such as WinRAR to do this.
    3. Open the extracted "Axis_and_Allies_2004_Preinstalled_Win_EN" folder and then open the "Game Files" folder.
    4. Double click on the file called "AA.exe" and your game should now launch. When you first launch, they will ask you to insert a CD-key. Simply copy-paste the following key: B2WS-6JGH-PV7G-PBKP

    For those who are still struggling running this, the main issue with the fonts is that windows changed how fonts are accessed since this game was release, so any reference to ‘Arial’ in the config files is lost. Moving a copy of the arial font to the true font folder, and then changing the reference to include the full path will resolve it when it needs to open those files.

    Also, the fonts below the main section aren’t required anymore. In most files two are already commented out, so just move the uncomment symbols include all of the extra ones.

    Lastly, you should note that some of the font files you need to edit have multiple sets of settings in them, and they all need to be edited.

    1 use the pre installed exe 2 get this thing “K2ExtractRWD” and use it on the data.rwr in the game directory (then remove it from directory ~ not sure if needed)

    The actual fix is to use tahoma not arial

    generally right except arial still screwed me, i had to use tahoma and i also commented out everything i could for the stuff below the fonts, windows sucks

    just keep checking the error log folder after every try

    Hi guyz, finally fixed the “ERROR: Processing non-Unicode TrueType font”
    Games run, but when i try to launch the campaign or the WW2 mode, another fatal error windows open ” An error has occurred:
    thread MAIN caught unhandled exception – Access Violation (C0000005) trapped at 23:432055″
    Any idea?

      see my above comment, you probably got two issues 1) dep thing 2) prepare for pain of stupid font troubleshooting

    I’m receiving an error on startup saying
    ERROR: Processing non-Unicode TrueType font.

    Thank you to whoever took time out of their life to upload the files on here and make a simple step by step instruction on how to download and play! I have been wanting to play this game for years. A truly core memory is a kid. Thank you!!!

    Same problem as MAX and The Doctor

    I found this youtube video with the fix, but my A&A folder looks different from the guy in the video (he has the CD version). Wondering if this fix could somehow be added to the download posted on this website?

    Same thing as Max except in my case the game worked perfectly right up recently then as of June 10 when I tried to run it, same error in processing non-Unicode TrueType font. Nothing fixes it. Will check back to see if a fix is posted but until then, game is uninstalled.
